I just had the most amazing experience at Toyota Walnut Creek, so bear with me for this lengthy review. In my search for a new car, I visited several dealerships and found myself frustrated by either the lack of service or the indifference of the sales staff. One of the more "memorable" experiences was at a dealership where I waited for half an hour for a salesperson to show me RAV4s, only for them to point to a row and say, "There they are—the white one is open if you want to sit inside," before going back inside the dealership.
Since I knew I wanted a RAV4, I kept checking out different dealerships with similar underwhelming experiences—until I arrived at Toyota Walnut Creek and met Jared Ramsauer. I went there with low expectations, but my experience was completely different. The customer service from start to finish was absolutely outstanding.
Jared introduced himself and took the time to understand what I was looking for. I knew I wanted a Hybrid RAV4, but I wasn’t sure about the specific model or features. Jared explained that since RAV4s are in high demand, they weren’t always available on the lot, but he offered to show me other vehicles so I could see the different features. We spent quite a bit of time exploring various options, including interior finishes, upholstery, panoramic roof vs. moonroof, body colors, technology options, and more.
What stood out most was Jared's enthusiasm and lack of pressure. There was no rush to get me to sign anything or move on to the next customer. He was genuinely focused on making sure I had all the information I needed to make a confident decision. It was clear that he wanted me to feel comfortable and informed at every step of the process. Another great thing about Toyota Walnut Creek is that their sales staff is qualified to handle everything—from vehicle selection to payment and financing. Jared was able to walk me through loan options based on various down payment amounts, and he was fully transparent about the costs and details of the extended warranties, with no hard sell.
What really made this experience stand out is Toyota Walnut Creek’s business model. Jared was my single point of contact from start to finish, which made the whole process feel personal and consistent. Since I had to order the vehicle, Jared kept me updated on every stage—from the car being shipped, to its arrival in the U.S., to the moment it got to the dealership. He even sent me a video when it arrived, which was a nice personal touch.
When I went to pick up my car, completing all the paperwork with Jared was smooth and easy. His communication throughout the process was excellent, and I felt like he truly cared about making the experience as stress-free as possible. Most importantly, when I finally saw the car in person, it exceeded all my expectations. The RAV4 was exactly what I had hoped for—and more!
I can't say enough good things about Jared and Toyota Walnut Creek. If you're in the market for a Toyota, do yourself a favor and go see Jared! He really cares about the people aspect of the job, and it shows in every...
Read moreSo I’ve been looking for a 2025 Tundra 4x4 since January. It had to be smoked mesquite limited edition with a black grill and black rims. I was originally was looking at the 1794 with a 6.5 bed same color but I couldn’t find one anywhere in the bay area. So went with my second pick the limited. It still was hard to find cause of the color. Anyways a friend told me I should try his plug Toyota of SF. I contacted his plug but it seemed like she wasn’t interested on helping me so I called Toyota Walnut Creek. Gustavo picked up and I asked if he had any 2025 Tundra’s 4x4 in smoked mesquite limited edition with rims and grill he was like yup matter of fact they have two. I was like koo. Then he asked where I was calling from and I said SL and he was like me too. It was weird that we were neighbors. So I told him I was coming down and he asked when I would get there. I said asap. I got there 20-25 mins smashing all the way. When I pulled up I was thinking like goddam wtf is there a party happening here? I’ve never seen so many people at a car dealership. Then I thought ooooh it’s cause of the tariffs. I parked went inside and looked for Gustavo. We talked for a few minutes did a test drive looked at some numbers and ran my credit. It was so packed we couldn’t even sit down to discuss a deal so Gustavo was like why don’t you just take the truck home and do a 24 hr test drive. I was like whaaaaaat??? I’ve never heard of that. I started to laugh and said ok but what’s the catch? He said there is no catch. It’s like renting a car but I’m testing driving it for 24 hrs. I was blown away. I had to call my wife to see if she ever heard such thing. So I took it home. I drove it like how I would drive any of my other cars. I would usually have to get used to a new car but this truck was perfect. It felt like I’ve been driving this truck for years. This truck was for me. I showed wifey and the family the truck. Went back to the dealership on Sunday. Unfortunately Gustavo wasn’t there to help me but his potna Reggie and his boss helped me. I told them I love the truck and I’m ready to sign the paperwork. We were in and out. Everyone there was polite and friendly and tired lol. Anyways I definitely will refer this place to family and friends and...
Read moreLots of issues with the service department at Toyota Walnut Creek as well as trying to take advantage of customers. For example they want to charge over $350 to change out a 12v battery for a non-agm battery with a low CCA rating. Similar batteries go for about $100. They also said they wanted to charge for half an hour of labor. People who have done this themselves know it is both free at most auto shops and takes less than 5 minutes to replace. Leading me to believe this place is predatory. I used to believe in them during my normal service intervals that were included with my car, but it gets worse and worse once you’re out of warranty. I have the extended warranty and well sometimes they also forget to factor that in as well.
Other things to mention is don’t get an alignment or balance here. Both the advisor and tech don’t really know what they’re doing. They said they’ll rebalance all 4 wheels because it needed it and welp I checked the tires when I got home and only two were rebalanced with weights removed and or added. It’s pretty obvious as you can see if there is still dust/dirt on the wheel. A proper tech would wipe the wheel with alcohol or clean it with soap and water before adding weights. The other thing is the advisor who said the wheel needed alignment was trying to point out tire wear on the wrong wheel until I had to tell him it was the other wheel that was supposed to be aligned. They’ll also charge you for a 4 - wheel alignment even though only two of the wheels are able to be aligned. They make the price sound reasonable by saying that all the wheels need to be aligned and when you look up the cost for all 4 wheels it comes out similar, but they neglect to tell the customer that only two of the wheels can be aligned and well they didn’t even touch the rear wheels and or they didn’t do the work they said they did which is the example of the rebalancing I mentioned before. So if they recommend you a service that’s not covered take your car somewhere else to get a second opinion because this downright fraud and predator in some cases. They were great during the purchase process, but the service...
