Several of us went to see my friends in Lumberyard play at their anniversary celebration a few weeks ago. There were probably 30+ people waiting to order something from the bar at any given time from the two people working there that night. I spent more time waiting for service the two times I ordered than I did watching the band. Around 45 minutes waiting each time. Absolutely ridiculous. People were getting really frustrated with the slow service. I think that their electronic ordering system on tablets is part of the problem. Why so understaffed and ill prepared at a planned event with a popular band? They probably could have doubled or tripled their sales that night if they had their act together. Bizarre!
Update: My friends in Lumberyard played there again so I went with an open mind and gave Rotator another chance. I’m not really a beer person so later in the evening I went in and picked out a can of seltzer out of their fridge and took it to the bar. This time there’s no line at all. I’m the only one waiting for service. The guy behind the bar, who seemed like he might be intoxicated, was chit-chatting with some other people and took his time before coming over and offering to help me. My friends are playing and I just want to back outside. Bar guy: Is that all you want? Me: That’s it. Bar guy: That’ll be $7. Me: Here you go, can I get a cup of ice? Bar guy: We don’t have ice. Me: Really? No ice? Bar guy: Nope. Me: Then I don’t want it. I push back the unopened can. Bar guy: F**k you! Me: Seriously? Bar guy: Yeah, take your money. Me: I’m going to quote you on that. Bar guy: Fine, do that. I took my money and left. I’m posting another photo. It’s the guy in the red hat. Strike two Rotator Taproom. Unbelievable! Hard to believe you’re still...
