THE MOTEL FALSELY ADVERTISES BEING 8 MINUTES TO MOUNTAIN CREEK. I pulled up to the motel the other night and then did a dry run to the lodge from there because we were expecting lots of snow the next day and i wanted to see what the drive was like. IT WAS NOWHERE NEAR 8 MINUTES....CLOSER TO 20. google map it. even the closest estimation is 13 according to google maps. every minute is precious when you have to drive in a blizzard and the owners are nasty and not understanding. they are refusing to refund even though they are false advertising on several platforms. going to fight this with my credit card. STAY AT THE APPALACIAN MOTEL INSTEAD. EDIT to respond to the owner (below) who can't pick up their phone to respond to my several calls but has time to post on my review: I never actually stayed. If you read the review, you will see that I did a dry run from the motel to the resort then because it was falsely advertised as being 8 minutes to the mountain, when in actuality it is double that, the reservation was cancelled. Normally a 5-10 minute difference is no big deal, but as i said, there was a blizzard coming. If you're 8 minutes to MC South, you should say that specifically because south doesnt open at the same time as the main lodge, and it isnt the main entrance to the resort. I dont know who uses mapquest anymore but I've attached a screenshot from google maps and it clearly shows its between 14-17 minutes depending on which route you take. not 8 minutes. I suggested the other motel because its in the same price range, it looks similar in style but is closer to the mountain and their customer service is a bazillion times better.

I live in Texas, but Rolling Hills is my home away from home. It's a great feeling to be treated with love and respect, and I receive plenty of both when dealing with the owners and fellow residents of this cozy motel. It feels more like an apartment community because every room is like a fully functioning studio apartment, with chairs outside to congregate if we want to, with friendly and outgoing neighbors. I thoroughly enjoy my time at Rolling Hills every year when I come up north for the summer. I have the freedom to rent for a night or two, or even by the week. The prices are VERY competitive, and I appreciate the thorough cleanliness and comfortable accomodations and decor. Niki treats me like her own mom (or grandma), and even came out to chase a hornet off my Jeep so I wouldn't get stung (I'm allergic). I cannot give an adequate critique for Rolling Hills... it's simply wonderful! I would give at least 7 stars out of 5.

My husband and I have throughly enjoyed staying at Rolling Hills Motel! We have stayed here on 2 separate occasions. The staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable and comforting. The rooms were always clean, comfortable, and had all the amenities we needed. Each room has a decent sized refrigerator, a large tv, Keurig coffee machine, microwave, WiFi access, as well as a hair dryer in each room. Plenty of storage space for your belongings. Niki, is a pleasure to speak with and always goes above and beyond to keep her guests comfortable. She’s very friendly and takes pride in her work. I especially appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and friendly people. The location was perfect for exploring Sussex and the nearby attractions. It is close to Holland American Bakery, Dairy Queen and Quick Chek. I highly recommend Rolling Hills Motel to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!"

This is the second place I’ve stayed in with this company. The first one was good for the price with very few issues that I mentioned respectfully. It was responded to online rudely. •towels smelled like mold and cigarettes •long strands all over the shower •dust on every surface from not cleaning the filter on the air conditioning

Check in went ok, I had a feeling there would be an issue with the person behind the counter but didn’t know why. I was still respectful. Last night, after sleeping on a inverted slope of a mattress and being woken up at 6:30am by construction, I woke up in a lot of pain. I waited 15 minutes before going next door to ask the employee to mention we were woken up by the noise. I wasn’t loud or disrespectful at all. I saw the woman with the neck tattoo that had checked me in and I mentioned what happened and showed her the bed, to which she could see plain as day, the mattress needs to be disposed of.

I mentioned the noise as well, to which she denied and said “you already checked out, you can leave.” I hadn’t planned on going back, so this wasn’t the flex perhaps she was hoping it would be. I know this isn’t the Ritz, I don’t expect to be treated like it is, but basic manners and respect is what guests require when you expect business. Behaving this way is very telling all of the hotels they own are like this one. She is quick to insult guests instead of looking into the issues. If anyone has access to cameras, they would see I was respectful checking in. After and ONLY after being disrespected did I say anything but I was happy to tell them about their establishment. She is the worst hotel manager I’ve ever come across and clearly is experiencing some issues outside of work to have so much venom for people who have actual concerns. I shouldn’t need a chiropractor after sleeping there and a day off to make up for being woken up this morning.

I mentioned the hotel manager never responded to any good reviews, just ones that didn’t make her look good. Of course, she went back now and has responded to all the good reviews. She also took the extra step to lie about my behavior checking in. All lies.

Get your money back from a third party and find any place that isn’t owned...

The female property owner (sounded Russian descent) was incredibly the most rude, disrespectful, insensitive and thoughtless person I’ve ever encountered doing business with. Attention to any consumer considering to book a room at Rolling Hills Motel, please do not second guess yourself as the customer service you will receive is less than mediocre. From my wife’s’s and my personal experience, our cancellation process was such a horrible experience we were so mortified even when I cancelled just right before the 24 hour check-in date and time (as noted in the owner’s cancellation policy - 24 hour risk-free 100% cancellation) due to a recent family member passing. When I explained to the Owner/Manager of the property my reason for cancelling my reservation right before the 24-hour cancellation window, she rudely, uncaringly and disrespectfully told me quote, “that my family and I would be blacklisted from not only booking any future stays in her property but also in any surrounding motels in the Wantage, NJ area due to the fact of our last minute cancellation notice and not paying our 100% cancellation fee (the cost of 1 entire overnight stay plus taxes and fees)! Prospective consumers, please be careful and don’t second guess yourselves when booking with this property nor be misconstrued by the nice-pleasant posted property photos in the property’s website. Please hear me out and be very careful of what you may consider yourself getting into as the Owner/Property/Manager is the type of individual that may point at fingers for any little thing she finds wrong and creates problems that are not even problems and may amplify them even more! Save the peace of mind, money, and efforts for you, your friends and families to stay and don’t invite any negativity like how my family and I experienced with this Owner/Property Manager. You always deserve to be treated with 100% respect. I hope anyone reading this review/feedback hits home. Always keep safe...
