Short Background: I finally decided, after many years of yearning for a motorcycle, to execute my decision. It was not an easy decision to make, as there was a lot of research involved, minus knowing the exact brand and model I wanted since I was a kid.
The Search: I started by searching near by stores around my zip code that were reputable, offered financing options, and had a Kawasaki Ninja 400 in stock. I visited a few locations and asked all the questions I had prepared. I decided to hold off on any motorcycles I may have been interested in, because I didn’t get that “Ohh this is the one for me,” feeling. So I continued to check inventory around me.
The Decision: I ended up going to Town and Country Cycle knowing very well what inventory they had, as well as some great sales for a new motorcycle. They may be a smaller shop, but I must admit, they truly have a knowledgeable and welcoming staff and environment.
I visited the shop with my husband, where we were greeted upon entrance, and told someone would be over to assist us shortly. While we browsed the current inventory they had, I saw the 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 400 SE. I was not sure if we could sit on them, until Edgar made his way to us, and mentioned that we could sit on any of the inventory they had, and if there was one specific that needed to be moved for better access to give him a shout. Before allowing us to continue browsing, he asked if we had any questions that could better assist us. We mentioned that we were just browsing and appreciated his assistance.
Then, I sat on the 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 400 SE, and got that immediate “Ohhh this is the one for me” feeling. From that moment, I threw about 20 questions at Edgar and he did not hesitate on ensuring he accurately and fully answered every last one of them. By the time we left the store, I knew I would be back and I would be contacting Edgar directly due to his outstanding customer service.
It took me about a full day to finally reach out to Edgar. We emailed back and forth despite it being busy season for them, and once again, I had many more in depth questions to ask. Let me just say that Edgar has the patience of a saint! He prioritized me as a person and customer by communicating with me in a friendly and professional manner. He was able to provide me with exact figures as far as “out the door” price, the companies they use for financing, and even a rough idea of the interest rate ranges. So, I decided to go forward with the credit check knowing I would have to wait until Tuesday when they were open and he was back in office.
Edgar emailed me first thing Tuesday morning asking me to give the store a call. When I called him, he was able to provide me with various options as far as financing; he gave an honest opinion in reference to which option he thought would be the best. I was happy to be told that there would not be an early pay off penalty either. Needless to say, I was satisfied with the sale price on the 2023 Kawasaki Ninja 400 SE and told him I wanted to go ahead with the purchase.
The rest of the sale went very smooth; Edgar provided clear instructions on how to finalize the sale, pickup options, and was happy to do so via email, as this was the easiest communication option for me. I was able to schedule a visit to the store on the same day, after work, and sign off on the sale paperwork. We planned a day and time to have a friend of mine (with written permission and proper ID) to pick it up and drop off at my residence. Before leaving, Edgar directed me over to their t-shirts and told me I can pick out whatever one I would like.
Jake, who was assisting another customer, acknowledged me immediately and assured me that if I needed a specific size to let him know. When Jake was finished assisting the other customer, he was able to grab me the size I needed and offered some great advice for a first time buyer and new rider. Jake is a kind and knowledgeable team member, who also offers outstanding customer service.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Town and...

In response to the reply on this review, my financial situation had nothing to do with it. The lack of help their salesman was is the issue here. When I asked about interest rates, he did not give me an answer. Instead, he handed me a sheet with a bunch of interest rates on it. He assumed just because I was a young adult he would reel me in with the “deal” but he was mistaken. Again, judging off the reviews and the help of others at this dealership, it doesn’t seem like a bad place. I just think my experience was lackluster and I’d rather take my business elsewhere. I had the money to outright buy the bike but I would rather finance to build my credit more. My financial situation was not the problem, the problem was the lack of motivation the joke of a salesman had. Perhaps I caught him on a bad day. I’m just not a fan of a business that tries to swindle younger people into paying over book value on used bikes because they may not be as “wise”. That’s my only issue with this place.
While most of the employees who work here seem very helpful and knowledgeable, in my opinion, the bike salesman is not. I went to purchase a 2018 ktm 250 xc-w tpi and my experience to say the least was lackluster. The woman who I believe is the owner met me in the showroom while I was looking at the bike, she is very nice and seems knowladable about the bikes in there. I told her the bike I was interested in and got me started on the paperwork to buy it because Edgar, the salesman, was busy with another customer. So I fill out the form and it was about closing time so I go home and call for the results. I needed a co-signer, so I got one. I made a $100 deposit to hold the bike until I can come back in and sign the paperwork. So, I come in a few days later to finish the paperwork, make the full down payment in cash and pick up the bike. While I was there the first time, Edgar, the salesman was very little to no help at all. Most salesmen who I’ve dealt with seem enthused and do everything they can to get you on the bike you want, he was not. I was trying to get any information out of him because I was about to make a fairly large purchase. When I asked the interest rate he said it would depend on my tier and handed me a sheet. I had no clue what I was looking at but I knew my co-signer had near perfect so I assumed I would get the best interest rate of 3.99%. I was wrong. So when I go in to buy the bike a few days later, the paperwork says 5.99% and he already had a price on the paperwork when we did no negotiating and did not agree on a price. He claims he called me multiple times but I did not receive any of them. If you can’t reach me by phone at least have the decency to send me an email. He claims he “hooked me up” by taking $100 off the price. At this point I’m disappointed in the whole experience I had with Edgar but I really wanted the bike. I was going to bite the bullet and take the 5.99% interest rate because I planned on paying off the bike within a year. I figured if I’m going to pay near the asking price of a used bike I should get something out of them because afterall, dealers make most of their money on used stuff. I asked to possibly get a skid plate ($99) or a pipe guard ($139) for free. I feel that’s pretty fair. He refused rudely and claims “we can’t just give away parts for free”. I asked to speak to the owner and his reply was “I’m in charge of sales”. No he’s not, he just another scum bag bike salesman. So I walked away from it. Now with a bad taste in my mouth for the first experience I had with this dealer I refuse to go back. If you want to deal with a rude, useless, waste of a human salesman, go the town and country cycle. If you want a true experience with friendly and helpful people, go the maverix motorsports in Middletown, NY. Anyone with a brain can sell a dirt bike, but this guy, apparently, has no brain.

Read moreHorrible service experience. They claimed to be the largest Beta Dealer on the East Coast, they do not stand behind Beta products. I brought my 500 RRS for an ECU Update, Valve Adjustment, and Tires. When they called me that it was ready, I showed up and the bike was out front and would not start. The bike had no running issues prior to this service. They then took the bike to the back without any explanation, I waited out front for 2 hours, zero apologies. Bike came back around, they stated they double checked the valves and increased the idle. Bike still did not run properly. After stating my frustration with Eric the service manager, he raised his voice with me and blamed the Beta Software. Said they did everything perfectly and basically its my fault for buying a Beta. I asked if I could leave the bike and he said he would email Beta but insisted they did everything right. After the treatment I received, I did not feel comfortable leaving the bike.
I then scheduled service with Ocean County Powersports. Stated all my issues, got a call back a few days later stating they inspected valve clearances, no clearance could be measured on right side exhaust valve, a 2.65 shim was removed and a 2.20 shim was installed. Bike runs perfectly now. HAD TO SPEND $550 TO FIX THE MISTAKES MADE AT TOWN & COUNTRY.
Called Town & Country to give them a chance to make things right, Eric stated it was impossible for them to make that kind of mistake, that they are very competent, and that I got ripped off by Ocean County.
I have given them every opportunity to make this right and the best they could offer is a $100 store credit. I ordered parts so I could use my store credit and they forgot to apply it to my order, had to call 2 more times to fix their...
