I brought my Toro Personal Pace mower in during the last week of August to replace a bearing and/or drive belt for the blade disengagement. I was told it would be a four week wait due to a backlog. At week six I was told there were two small jobs ahead of mine and it would be done at the end of the week. At week eight I enquired (again) and was told they had broken a cable during the repair and had to order another one. At nine weeks (November 1st) I finally got the mower back. I used it today to pick up leaves. The blade clutch does not engage as it used to and the cable is very tight, and the self propel hardly works (it worked fine previously). On top of that I found a hose clamp was used to hold one of the cables in place on the handle. I have used Bassani for repairs previously and bought my snow blower here a few years ago and was always satisfied. Today I am very disappointed at what I've found!!! ** UPDATE: Lisa from Bassani saw my review and called me immediately. She apologized for the lengthy delay in getting the repair completed and said they want to correct things to my satisfaction. She arranged to have the mower picked up on Friday and reworked on Saturday. She called this morning and said they called Toro tech support to to find out why the blade delayed in engaging (unlike it did previously). It turned out that a plate above the blade had been reversed during assembly, which is an alternate mode that provides the delayed engagement. She had also explained that the cable had broken during the original repair and the replacement was an update which was stronger and had a heavier spring. She said it would relax with use. The mower has been corrected, and checked by the service manager and the owner. Lisa said the mower will be delivered back to me on Monday.. My faith has been restored! Thanks to everyone at Bassani. Turned out there was some factory assembly issues with the snowblower and I needed to bring it back after less than an hour of use. Very annoyed on the quality control at Cub Cadet despite a solid reputation. I'm still happy with the product choice. Nonetheless, Lisa and the team took care of the issue immediately.
