I loved this florist!! Her quality of flower is great. Every year we send flowers to our daughter who attends elementary schools in the area. We usually don’t have to give details because they always did the best with beautiful bouquets. And never had a set price on delivery even though we would always end up with a purchase around 35.00 to 45.00 dollars. My husband was told a minimum was 35.00 and delivery was over ten. We were fine with that. This year we requested a bouquet of bright and cheerful colors just no purple roses. (We picked purple from this florist when our daughter had a concert a month ago) Inwas so excited to see our child get off the bus with flowers she was carrying a box with a basket of fall colored flowers and one small red rose. Now, the flowers are beautiful. But, they aren’t what we asked for... when I called The owner wasn’t there but the woman who took our order was. She wouldn’t let me finish my reasons for calling and became defensive very quickly. She kept interrupting me saying she “felt the basket in the box was easier for a ten year old.” Not her decision to make, not what we wanted and in fact made it very difficult for my child to get on and off the bus with since she needed two hands to carry the box and basket. Plus it kinda took the fun out of it for my child, who obviously loves flowers. She likes to take them apart and put them in her vase. And I like seeing her being able to find joy like that. This is part of our child’s gift every year, to not get what we asked for is poor customer service and at the price we were willing to pay. Especially, when you call to voice your complaint and you’re automatically met with a combative employee who refuses to give you the chance to speak. I have always shared this florists info but I will no longer do so and the have definitely lost our business to poor service. I am so thrilled with my experience with Sussex County Florist! Even at my first meeting with Rene, I knew it would be a good fit because she understood exactly what I wanted - she took detailed notes, asked me lots of follow-up questions, and worked within the budget I provided. The pieces I loved the most were my bridesmaid bouquets and my bouquet. They were being delivered just as I arrived at the bridal suite and I was genuinely so excited to see the finished product! I had shown Rene some specific photos I loved and she recreated them almost perfectly. The only thing I would mention is that they are a little old-school - I lived far away and had to communicate via e-mail, which they weren’t used to doing (they preferred meeting in person). They also don’t accept credit card payments, which is a little inconvenient but didn’t affect my decision to work with them. Overall they were amazing to work with because they were friendly and really took the time to help create my vision, which wasn’t the case with some other florists I met with. Renee is absolutely awesome! She is very friendly and knowledgeable. My daughter had her first ever father/daughter dance last week and my husband and I wanted to get her a wrist corsage for it. When I called to order it and spoke with Renee, she really took her time with me and asked me questions about the color of my daughter’s outfit, what her favorite colors are and how big her wrist is. She suggested what flower(s) would be durable, yet pretty enough to withstand an eight year old’s wrist who would be dancing and bouncing around all night. I was not able to pick up the corsage, so my sister went for me and she said that Renee was so friendly and super nice! The end result was absolutely amazing! The corsage was so beautiful and Renee incorporated all of the details that we discussed over the phone into the corsage!
