Finding this place is like finding a hidden treasure. The rooms are large and exceptionally clean. It comes with a 58" smart tv, a large table, a large coffee table, 2 club chairs, a very comfortable bed, microwave, oven, fridge with freezer, a great air conditioner, a well lighted sink just outside the bathroom, free and strong Wi-Fi, free parking, triple locks on the door, tiled floors in the room and bathroom, tiled walls in the bathroom, etc. The room and bathroom were spotless when I checked in.
My wife and I have been fortunate enough to have traveled extensively, both internationally and domestically but, Matt, the manager, and Russ, the assistant manager, are the best hotel manager/asst. manager I've ever come across. Beyond being extremely professional and courteous, they'll go above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that a guest has a great stay. I had trouble with my laptop - Matt fixed it. I had trouble getting Prime on the smart TV - Matt fixed it in about 30 seconds.
Russ, the assistant manager is fabulous, as well. I had car issues, so I was driven up here by my step son. Since there are no cab services in the area, the prices I was quoted by cab services some 20 miles away were exorbitant. After explaining this to Russ, he said there were 4 rooms occupied at the hotel by out of town construction workers who were in town working on a job. I told Russ I will gladly pay them a fee to drive me into town and back. He knocked on all 4 doors, and he solved my problem. His heart is approximately the size of Montana. This hotel is lucky to have a man of his caliber.
I'll be back for sure whenever I want to get away from NYC and seek peace and relaxation in a...
Read moreUPDATE: A response to the motel’s ridiculous assertion that smoke just seems to waft in while the door is open is patently absurd. The room is clearly smoke damaged— as I stated in my review, the smoke permeated everything! And there were cigarette burns in the dining table. The room REEKED of cigarette smoke! Despite appearing clean, there is no amount of cleaning or air freshener that can remove the permeation of smoke into furniture, bedding, curtains, etc. (I tried Fabreze— I carry a travel size.) The cigarette burns in the table top were a dead giveaway that previous guests smoked in the room. I couldn’t sleep, because the smell was choking me; so, I tried smearing minty toothpaste under my nose and using a bandana as a face mask (yes, I was that desperate). The next morning, I told the manager how awful the room smelled— she tried to argue that no one smokes in the room (yeah, okay, sure)— and that my husband and I would be checking out (we were booked for two nights). She relented. My throat and lungs were irritated; so, my husband kindly offed to pack up our stuff. We made other arrangements and he dropped me off there, then went to get our stuff (he’s a saint!). SHOCKER (not): they kept our money for the second night! I called to refute the charges and was told that her “boss will call me back.” No one called back. I knew it was a low budget motel; however, it was advertised as “newly renovated” and nonsmoking. Unfortunately, I believe people live at the motel and smoke in the rooms. The manager said that it was an “extended stay,” with a two week maximum stay, but that no one lived there. It didn’t...
Read moreWorst and rudest staff I ever met. I called earlier that day to ask if there was a time we had to check in by. Front desk said any time. I arrived at 11:30pm after traveling all day to check into my room. The office was closed with a sign saying “will return at 9am” and the office was completely empty. So I ended up having to stay elsewhere that night. I called the next morning to make sure my card wouldn’t be charged because I did not stay there overnight. The Front desk proceeds to say these words exactly: “yeah. You made me stay up until 3am and I wasn’t happy about that. Because You made me wait, I charged your card anyway.” The audacity. So I proceed to tell him that when I arrived everything was closed. He THEN tells me that he management let him live in one of the rooms and he has a camera to watch the front desk. I ask him how I would have known that? How was I supposed to know that it was actually opened when all the signs said closed? He then tells me all about how he reported me to his management because he ended up having to take his girlfriend to work so he was mad he had to stay up late. And if I wanted to get my money back he would take me to court and we could speak to a judge.
I could not believe what I was hearing. I had to contact my bank and ask them to delete the transaction after explaining the situation and they too could not believe what had happened.
I believe his name was Matthew. Literally the rudest and Most childish person I ever had the misfortune to deal with. Not even part of management and has the nerve to treat...
