Jason and crew were amazing! My brother bought a sweet @ss Santa Cruz Tallboy MTB from Sussex Bike & Sport Shop, and when we picked it up we dropped off a late 80s Trek 6000 aluminum mountain bike. It hadn’t been ridden since 2001 when my Dad gave it to my brother. When my brother gave it to me I was concerned that it wouldn’t be rideable at this point... but since it has sentimental value, we brought it in for Jason to assess. Jason quickly assessed that it would need a few parts, some minor service, and also offered to make custom (modern) adjustments to the handlebars, to make it more comfortable for me. I was surprised that he was able to do these things and salvage the bike. But, what was even more shocking was the more than fair price he quoted me to do all of the work he suggested. When I picked it up, the bike was even better than I had ever hoped for it to be. Now the bike rides like new. Highly recommend this bike shop. I have purchased a bike there and had service done. When I went to get my daughter her first bike with gears, Jason took the time to make sure the fit was right for her and let her demo it in the parking lot. He set the bike initially so she could only change gears in the rear until she learned the whole shifting process. When she was ready to use the front gears we brought it back and he quickly made the adjustment so she could use all 21 speeds. Fast forward several weeks later and my family was on a camping trip and I watched my bike rack snap off my trailer (no fault of the bike shop, just my own stupidity). I ended up with several bent rims. Brought our bikes in and Jason had our bikes fixed up and gone over a few days later after the parts came in. Jason and staff were absolutely awesome. As an avid motocross rider, I was interested to start getting into MTB riding... especially with Mountain Creek only 5 miles from my home. I spoke to a friend, who is an avid rider already, and he highly recommended Jason at Sussex Bike Shop. Jason was extremely helpful through the process of selecting the right bike based on my needs and price range, the order process, and the bike being setup to my weight and height. Covid threw us some unexpected wrenches on ordering and shipping, but Jason got ahead of it multiple times and was able to pivot to avoid me not having a bike this spring (when manufactures were quoting late summer to possible winter 2021). When my bike came in I was on vacation, and Jason held it with no pressure or issues to make me feel rushed or panicked... and low and behold I got my bike last week... just in time for 2021 season.
