Stayed in the Nylo Tapestry Hotel by Hilton in Warwick. I would definitely stay again. Room was spacious, aesthetically pleasing, modern and clean. Staff was amazing and I had peace and quiet stay. Important information before your stay. Firstly, I love Hilton Hotels. I’m a Diamond member, so you know I stay at them often. However, I would never stay here again, at least not in the summer. Here’s the good, the bad and the ugly. The hotel was made from a former Fruit of the Loom textile factory, and is very chic. Floors are polished concrete, and as you can see by the picks, so are the walls. The ceilings are just concrete. The hotel restaurant looks out over the river, and you can sit outside right next to the river and enjoy the view. The staff are very friendly and conversational. There are Keurig machines in each room for good coffee, and there is also coffee downstairs. There’s a narrow driveway to drop off your stuff at the front of the hotel, and free parking across the street just to the right of the hotel (which will fill up when the hotel is full, although you can still park in the lot meant for the apartments next door). The bad and the ugly (and this is for the “deluxe” upgraded room I had): If you stay in the summer time, you won’t have a cool room. The A/C is limited to a 67 degree setting, but I guarantee you that it is much warmer than that. Additionally, the A/C does not remove the humidity from the room, so even if you hang your towels up in the morning, you will not find them dry the next day, so you will need daily servicing. I might as well have been sleeping outside….it would have been just as (un)comfortable. The bathroom sink is a bit elevated, which wouldn’t be a problem except that the sink runs in a rectangle left to right, and is VERY narrow. If you want to wash your face, you’ll splash water everywhere, including on the floor and on your clothes. It looks cool, but it’s very impractical. The shower also looks cool, and has an overhead or handheld that you can use. Of note, I barely had water warm enough to shower at 830 am on a Sunday morning. Again, you’ll need fresh towels as nothing dries. The shower has large containers of shampoo, conditioner and body wash, which is of high quality. The Deluxe room is large, but it only has a desk chair. It certainly has room for more furniture, so it’s not really practical for two people to sit anywhere but the bed. There are ample plugs for all your devices. The service: we checked into our room, and the next morning we found that 1) there was no body wash (I guess they don’t check to make sure everything in the room is ready). 2) the safe was locked in an open position. As we left for the day, we asked 1) for new towels (which they supplied) 2) more coffee (which they supplied, without decaf) 3) body wash (which they supplied) and 4) for the safe to be opened (which they didn’t accomplish). In sum, a beautiful chic hotel with great staff, but not worth the high price. And if the A/C was so very inadequate in the summertime (with external temps around 82), I’m not sure how warm the rooms will be in the winter.

Let me start by saying this hotel has the potential of being 5 stars! The three star review is not a reflection on the staff or management but unfortunately the nature of what is currently occurring at this location.

NOTE: The manager is first rate! The staff are all very kind! And, we will return for their Summer Dog days - and might consider staying overnight again.

We are avid travelers and often enjoy staycations in New England. We are also quite familiar with Hilton Stays both here and abroad.

What we experienced in our two night stay: The Positives— Affordable nightly rate Easy check in A clean room with excellent linens, a wonderful espresso machine! A contemporary but cozy interior and decor - from the lobby to the dining area and bedrooms, the decor was refreshing and welcoming!

Negatives— Inconsistent service - while the hotel says they are dog friendly, the messaging from hotel/booking.com says you can’t leave your dog unattended in your room. Okay - weird but maybe you can take your dog everywhere? Not the case. For a few of 50$ a day, they need to figure this out. As a dog owner, we selected this hotel for a staycation and ease. We didn’t want to leave our dog in the room the entire time but we didn’t want to use the gym and sauna as a couple. Also, as dog owners, plenty of hotels in the state and surrounding areas offer dog friendly dining without problems — the experience here is fuzzy and leaves a dog owner feeling a little uneasy about even having your dog here (quite the contrast to hotels like The Brenton 41 North and many others in state!) The hotel room also didn’t have a mini fridge for keeping leftovers safe before returning home, or even storing fresh pet food or one’s own personal dietary favorites. Additionally, room service is not exactly up to par with the regular service found at other Hilton Stays and full service hotels. There is a new QR code system in place. Seems easy right? Not really. It’s not easy to use, has a limited menu, and it offers you the chance to pay cash but then doesn’t process that. When you call for room service - you can be told different things at different times. It appears the entire system is new and the staff are just as confused as guests. As a result of the above, I took my dog to the hotel bar, and asked for a drink to take upstairs. I offered to pay cash and was told it was a credit card only hotel. So charged it to the room and went on my way with the dog (luckily the bar tender watched my cocktail while I walked our dog, and returned for it) The next day, room service for dessert was impossible with no options on the QR code. So my husband went downstairs and purchased a 12$ glass of wine and dessert. They poured the wine in a plastic cup and said they couldn’t give him a glass — which was odd since people in the lobby had wine in glasses, and the night before I had a cocktail in a glass. I called room service, and they said that wasn’t the case and would send someone up with a wine glass- they arrived with a champagne glass - you can imagine 20 minutes later I had zero interest in the wine that now tasted like the plastic it had been sitting in or the champagne glass which doesn’t allow one to swirl their wine. Also, my dessert was in a take a way case which had leaked - so the ice cream was now on the desk.

I don’t think these things are a big deal on their own but when you put them together for a 600$ weekend stay it’s not really on par with other places we’ve stayed.

I hope the Hilton Corporation fixes the kinks and gets this gorgeous hotel up and running so another stay is seamless and...

I'm hesitant to post about this because I don't want the prices to go but the NYLO Providence Warwick hotel is New England's best kept secret. If you understand modern design and sustainability, you'll understand the NYLO is doing and why. The interior and exterior design are both very clean and superbly executed.

So many hotels clutter and busy the rooms and hallways with unnecessary works of bad art. The NLYO keeps the space open and clean. The accent carpeting on the cement floors is really, really genius. The open design of the bathroom reminds mr of something you'd see in the best modern designed hotels in Europe or Latin America.

My guess is that some people won't understand the interior design concepts of modernism represented in the hotel. It's truly brilliant. Many of the negative one-star reviews that I read on Google were clearly people don't get modern design and a bit unfair. Less carpet, open floors, open aired bathrooms, etc. are all aspect of modern, sustainable design! If you're not open to sustainability and modern design this hotel experience might not be for you. You might not get it. It's more European than American. In other parts of the world, hotels designed with this concept are three times the price!

What I appreciated the most about the restaurant was how cleanly designed it was. Brilliant! The American temptation is overdue a space like this with obnoxious furniture, gaudy light fixtures, and overly stimulating colors. Kudos to the design team for keeping it simple and clean! The inside is as clean as the outside! I've stayed in lots of Hilton properties internationally and this is probably one of the best European hotel experiences one will have in the US.

The staff was extremely personable, attentive, and friendly. Khalil, who supervises the restaurant, creates an engaging and professional environment. Extremely personable! Jessica, the bartender, was also excellent at her job and created a really nice vibe for the space. There was one other young lady, I didn't get her name(sorry), who often works breakfast who had an angelic disposition about her. So graceful. It felt good to be treated by the restaurant staff with such dignity and joy.

The chef is other-worldly. Wow. The beef sliders are mind-blowing!! I only wish the restaurant had a bit more variety of non-fried foods because I'd love to see the chef use even more of her skills; and it's a bit healthier.

When I left the hotel, I was seriously considered trying to figure out a way to move in there! Such a great experience. The front desk staff was always happy to answer my questions and get whatever I need. I felt like a VIP.

I was so glad they have updated gym equipment!! Especially, the treadmills! Thanks!! Most hotels slack off in the gym.

The favorite part of the day was sitting by the river in the morning (with no background music playing). What a great way to start the day!

Lastly, because the hotel follows the principles of sustainability and is a repurposed factory building, with sturdy concrete construction, so it's the quietest hotel I've ever experienced. It's nearly impossible to hear your neighbors!

I found out at the end of my stay that you could order a refrigerator for your room. I wish I was told that when I checked-in. I was there for several says and that would be extremely useful.

Overall, I had a great experience. Kudos to the...
