Read moreAs I was sitting in the Warwick Mall parking lot waiting for my lovely wife. I was contemplating where we could grab a bite to eat. I stumbled across this place, Cork & Rye Gastropub.
Folks, trust me, this is the place! The staff are simply amazing. Andrew, our server, brought a couple of Yacht Club Root beers to start us off. By the way, they are made right here in Rhode Island and were great!
Andrew and his crew were simply outstanding. I think we were checked on by no fewer than 6 staff members, including a couple of stops by Erin the GM, all showing genuine concern that we were enjoying ourselves, first-timers... lol.
Oh, yeah, we came to eat. I almost forgot because these folks were so attentive. We ordered the Pulled Pork Nachos as a starter. If I could show a picture of us kissing our fingers, well, you get the idea! The sauces used gave these nachos a dynamic favor for sure.
Time for the Entrées. Initially, we were going to get burgers. My wife, the Classic, and me, the Crispy Onion burger. It's Friday! Why not keep it simple, right? But then Andrew came with the specials. While my wife didn't take the special her Margarita Pizza was truly the answer for her. I opted for the special, Tomahawk Pork Chop, topped with cranberries while laying in a bed of mash potatoes with broccolini on the side.
The time came to dig in and wow at first bite the mash was incredible, then I dug into the Tomahawk. Okay, rewind! That was the best. Who is the chef over there? Can he cook for us on a regular basis? The food was simply amazing. The Tomahawk had an incredible taste. It was cooked to perfection and seasoned in the same way, perfection.
My wife will write her first review of any kind about her experience. I know she enjoyed the pizza because I tasted it, nuff said!
Erin, you and your staff are to be commended on making our first visit one to be remembered. We will be back! Next time, we may have room for dessert.
Cork and Rye is family friendly so. Bring your kids, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandma, and grandpa. Heck, the whole family! Tell the folks there Bea & Ry...
Read moreI want to start this review by saying that I knew nothing about this place prior to visiting. I took my sister and her boyfriend out to dinner for her birthday and she had been wanting to try this location. We arrived relatively early around 4:45 PM on a Wednesday evening and the place was packed. I would strongly recommend that you make a reservations in advance. The gentleman at the entrance was very kind and let us know it would take roughly 30 minutes. I will say that this place has a very relaxed atmosphere where people are sitting and enjoying beverages, food and conversation.
The wait ended up taking roughly an hour but we spent the time walking around the mall waiting for the text to return. The staff were very apologetic for the wait and seated us quickly and took our drink order.
We ordered two appetizers. We ordered mozzarella sticks, which were absolutely delicious and had a very fresh just-made taste to them. We also ordered a special appetizer. It was freshly made pretzel bites with a homemade beer cheese. The pretzel bites literally melted in your mouth like a hot Krispy Kreme doughnut and the beer cheese should win awards (maybe it has?)
Now let’s move on to the amazing dinner. I can only provide a review for what I ate and I ordered the crispy onion burger. This was possibly the best burger I have ever had. The buns were so fresh they may have just finished baking when they put a delicious, juicy medium cooked beef patty in between them. The burger was topped with a fantastic homemade honey mustard sauce and crispy onion straws. In addition, they have a rosemary french fry, which are crispy and delicious, and they provide you with a very large serving.
Book a reservation in advance so you don’t have to wait and definitely give this place a try, you will not be disappointed. Dinner for three without alcoholic beverages, two appetizers, and three entrées was $92...
