The Toy Vault at Warwick Mall — Local services in Warwick

Iv been going to toy vault forever and at all locations. I've had good and bad experiences, but I have had more bad than good. Before the pokemon card boom i had sold all of my XY era card to toy vault after some hard times, I would say I didnt even get 1/8 of what I paid for them or what they were worth( this is when they had the card shop in warwick before covid) the people working there told me that these were the best prices and to my suprise a few days I went with a buddy there and saw my card for sale for more the 200% of what they paid me. My comments about the sale price and what they gave to me fell on deaf ears. Why would someone care as long as they get the better end of the deal? Fast forward, i had called several times to ask about a card set that was supposed to be released and have called multiple sellers. Toy vault I knew had to have had it as they sold the Japanese version of the cards( the game in question was the english union arena) 2 employee said they were unsure which i respect their honesty, however one employee said they do not know if they are getting it, and they will only know on the day it is to be released. Do the distributors just drop things at the door and say hey try to sell this?" That did not make sense to me. You place an order with your vendor, and they deliver the product based on supply and demand. I can see if they didn't know how many boxes they were getting, but don't know if you ordered it or not? That is far-fetched. Now to today, I had reached out to Chris about selling some items. A few transformers and statues, Chris had asked me what I would sell them for, and I gave a price that was 20% what I saw they were selling for on eBay. In most selling markets, 20% I think is a far sell. I was even willing to go 30%, but Chris replied the next day with i will pass. Thank you. Chris did not ask for a lower price or asked to negotiate at all. A reply of ill pass also seems pretty unprofessional in my opinion, someone had done research gave a far sell price and you had me wait after asking what I wanted to sell for, then said ill pass when the price wasnt right for you, if I had said $100 dallors I am sure they answer would have been yes, not in couldnt do that to you, let me offer a higher number to make things even. Toy vault continues to make money only because it is the only story that is in a mall setting, selling what is sells. Back to the future is a mom and pop store that actually works with the people, and I have had better dealing at time capsule with selling cards and game at fair prices. I wish tilt was still there instead of this place, at least I could take my kids to a place were they wouldn't...

I went in there this weekend to purchase a bondai. Spent about 15 minutes with the sales rep explaining what I was looking for. There was a product immersed with the bondai products on the same shelf. No where on the box did it indicate that this product was nothing like a bondai product. This specific product requires paint and cement to build. Nothing of what I want or interested in. When I got home I opened the box, looked at the book and realized this isn’t a product I would have purchased. Nothing but the box itself was opened. No tears, no dents nothing!! I tried to return it and they refused. I emailed a district manager and still refused. Unfair when this is what their sales rep sold me knowing very well it wasn’t what I was looking for. This product cost 189.99 plus taxes!!! They are a scam and ripped me off!! I will be filing a complaint with the BBB!!! Horrible to treat a repeat customer!! In addition, I was told that the sales rep told management that I inspected the box and he asked if I was sure this is what I wanted. Lies!! To cover his own butt!! I was also told that video footage confirms this. Guess what, more lies!! After all of this, and reading my review they offered an exchange!! Not a refund. They have horrible customer service skills! All the way to the top!! I will never go there ever again!! They lost a good customer. Their email solution is an exchange not a refund!! The district manager, Edwin Botelho decided to argue with me over email from around noon time until 8 pm. Literally, rather than making things right. They say that they will assist you if you give a bad review, but then tell you that it’s their policy and there is nothing they can do. Read all the one star reviews, it’s repetitive behavior. Before this review I would have given 4 stars; 5 stars if the prices were a little better. Key note #4 is why the store deserves .5 stars.

Now, many collectors will say you should never buy packs from open booster boxes. However, I’ve spent a lot of money in this store on sealed products without issue. They had a discount for 3 packs so I bought 18 and I ripped in the car (I know some of ya do it too), when I didn’t get a single hit (1 super rare) I bought the rest to confirm my suspicions…Even though I bought nearly 3 booster boxes worth of packs (41 of 48 packs)… I got ZERO ALT ART/ parallels (across all rarity) and ZERO SECRETs. I got a grand total of 3 super rares. 😂

I will not be returning out of principle and lack of integrity; regardless of the selection. Go to a reputable card shop as I wouldn’t doubt they do the same with...
