UPDATE: They DID have my ID. After calling 7 times total the motel staff confirmed they have my ID. The last time I called, the employee who answered tried to deny that they kept my ID, however she was the one who found it and confirmed the motel still had it. The time I called prior to this, I was told I would get a call back confirming if they have my ID (which they didn’t). It took me calling again. It was so funny, because after I had already confirmed that my ID was indeed there, right away a different staff member (who had told me he would call me back, which he never did) called me telling me my ID was there. As if I hadn’t already confirmed it with someone else. It’s like he forgot and suddenly remembered when I called again. Staff was super nice, but not very helpful when it came to my situation that they created. I wish more responsibility was taken, because I was seriously considering suing. The ID that was kept with them was a work authorization card, and it is almost time to renew it. Now I am a few weeks behind because of this, and since I’ve already been delayed on getting it back, it’s possible I won’t renew on time (the process takes time). There is a possibility that I can be terminated from my current job because of this ordeal. Tragic.
Service was great, staff was great, room was clean, BUT the front desk lady NEVER gave me back my ID. It was my first time staying at a hotel so I thought it was policy for them to hold on to it, and that I would get it back at the end of my stay. I checked out and asked for my ID. Older woman says she gave it back to me. I knew for a fact I didn’t get it back, even though she insisted, but I just went about my day as usual and gave her the benefit of doubt and thought “maybe I did get it back”. I looked everywhere and it was not found. It’s been a few weeks and I STILL don’t have it. The ID I have is not a normal California ID. It is US government issued, and VERY hard to replace. It is extremely disappointing that they would mishandle something as sensitive as this.
side note: I have called about it and have not received any information regarding the whereabouts of my ID. I know for a fact they didn’t give...
Read moreWe tried to stay here and were kicked out. My kids and I arrived and nobody was at the front desk. There was what appeared to be a door to a break room just inside the office, and the office door had been left opened. I continually called for help by saying “Hello? Hello? Anybody here?” With no response. After 5 minutes and no help, I walked through the open office door and looked into the break room. Again I asked “hello? Anyone here?” An elderly woman appeared from another door in the back of the break room and said someone would be right with us. I thanked her and went back to the counter. Finally, a younger girl came out and checked us in. Everything seemed to be fine. I went out to the car and grabbed my bags and when I came back in and was heading to my room, the young woman asked “Did you go into our secured area?” I informed her that the door was wide open and nothing on or near the door stated that it was a secure area, and that we were just looking for someone to help us. The woman said that her mom had been frightened, and she informed us that we had to leave. I plead with the woman, stating that we had a 3 hour drive to get home, and apologized if I had scared the woman. The young woman then threatened to call the police. I informed her that I was an off duty police officer and that her mother was never in any danger, and I did not yell or come at her in any kind of startling or aggressive way. The young woman still insisted we leave and still decided to call the police. An officer arrived within seconds and asked what was going on. I explained the entire situation to him and he stated “We have problems here all the time.” He then recommended a few local hotels, however we could not find one to accommodate our family anywhere from Watsonville to Scott’s valley, and ended up driving the 3 hour drive back home. These people ruined our night and the plans we had for...
