I really hate to complain but, this time I really need to because I’m discussed of the way I was treated at Waxahachie LaQunita Inn. Last week I went on a business trip and stayed at the hotel. It was a long day from driving and was getting ready for bed. During the night, I started to feel itchy, and bites. I had looked and saw a bed bug crawling on the pillow. I jumped and was really in a panic and mind you this woke me up out of my sleep around 11pm. As we dropped the pillow I started to take photos of it quickly as most hotels they love to denied it. The pillow fell to the floor and it disappeared onto their dark carpet. We went around the bed shaking the sheets and we found another one, grabbed a napkin and placed it in a cup for evidence. Shaken up I went downstairs to advise the front desk night person, bringing the evidence. I was applaud the way he reacted like no big deal and said I can discuss with manager in the a.m. I went outside and came back in and the cup was missing as if they don’t care and threw it away. I advise of my bites had pictures and shown all proof to them! Again, nonchalant like no big deal! He did switched our room and mind you, we had to pack up now around midnight. It was an inconvenient! I work up in the morning and spoke with the young lady downstairs and told her my concerns. The manager came in and didn’t really pay us any mind as she was telling him. I advise I should be compensated for my stay! He advise how long my stay was for and what room and said no problem! Even the lady said no problem we will take care of it and you! I was told that there was other customers who had spotted the bed bugs and no action, no hospitality, nada was done for their customers! Come on people bed bugs that you can bring home. I advise about my clothes and thought they would at least do a courtesy washing our clothes but, all was mentioned was wash your own. After, I had left the next day and went back home the business day came and I checked my credit card and sure enough I was still billed for all my stay! I called and spoke with so called manager and he said he was looking for me around the hotel. Dude, there was other people in my room all day while I was at my business show. Nobody heard any knocking, no letter or looking for us. It’s not that big and they know where to find us. He said that I need to email him proof of the bites, and the bed bug. Luckily I have it because of course he paid no mind the day prior when speaking to him. He said he couldn’t comp any stay that it’s above me. I never heard of that before. He’s the so called manager. He replied to my email after all evidence that was provided and said I have 1 free night stay that I can redeem within the 6mths! Again, I’m applaud! First off why would I come back after it’s infested? Secondly, it’s several hours away and I was on there for business only! Discussed, Discussed! I responded back it was unacceptable and I should be refunded for my stay! And guess what? No reply back! UNPROFESSIONAL!!! ...
Read moreI would not recommend staying in this location. My wife and children evacuated from Hurricane Laura with our two dogs. They arrived to a room with a bathtub that was filthy that my children describe as having poo in it. My wife cleaned it and thought it was rust from the faucet. After having stayed in La Quinta's for years, now that Wyndham bought it they have started to impose pet fees so we will be staying at other facilities that are more pet friendly. We stayed at this same hotel during Hurricane Harvey until the crowds got out of hand and we left the state to wait out the rest of the storm with family in another location. In 2017, there were no pet fees at this location.
Straight from the Wyndham Corporate website, the pet policy is as follows: "A current contact number must be left with the front desk and an optional pet fee may be charged at check-in ($20 per night for maximum of $40 per stay per room). Authorized service animals are not subject to a pet fee."
The pet fee is optional so this location has decided to be greedy and start charging for it. Second, the policy states that it is a maximum of $40 per stay per room. They charged us $80 and are arguing that it is because there are two pets.
The girl at the front desk argued with me over their own corporate policy and then when I asked to have the manager's information she refused and said she is not going to give it to me. I recorded the conversation and played it back for the 800 number and they provided the owner's name and phone number. I will be sure to contact the owner and discuss this employee's behavior and send him the recording if needed.
Other issues we had with the location was the absolute disregard for any COVID precautions based on State of Texas and CDC recommendations. The workers at the front desk were not wearing masks and there was no social distancing enforced. The majority of the people staying there were not wearing masks. The breakfast was still serve yourself along a buffet style line and tables/seats were very close together.
The plus side of their stay was that they did provide a military discount for the room and my wife said they were helpful with getting luggage inside the room since their one luggage cart was no where to be found. The kids also enjoyed the free cookies at the front desk. The housecleaning personnel, maintenance workers, and kitchen staff wore masks so I'm glad that they are at least concerned about their own health. This location also has cameras to keep an eye on the...
Read moreI booked a room the day of diving into town. I asked when I booked a room if there was truck park with a 40 ft trailer. They said yes. I pulled up to the hotel, looking around. I stopped on the street with my flasher on, went in side and ask where there truck parking was she said right where your parked. I was like ok, I ask if I have to park on the street that was busy and my truck taking up most of the street, could you have my room face the street so I could see my truck. She said Your reservation won’t accommodate the rooms that face the street, I said I will pay more so I could see the street. she then said I don’t know which rooms are on what side and where they’re located I can’t guarantee it will face the street. I then responded and said could you assigned me a room I will run upstairs check to see if it faces the street and if it doesn’t could you change my room she said No. The whole time speaking with Natalie she was bothered by me asking these questions and me being concerned of the safety of my livelihood sitting on the street that barely fit my truck. I asked to speak to A supervisor she said no one was available she was the only one on duty, I then ask for my ID back and walked outside. While out side there where two ladies sitting there, I was so frustrated speaking with her and I don’t like to speak to nobody in a rude matter like she was doing to me. I said to myself when I walked out how rude is this lady I need to take a breather because she wasn’t speaking to me right. I don’t like to have confrontation and I didn’t have any option. I needed to cancel my room I didn’t feel comfortable staying there. The ladies outside that were actually off duty and said are you talking about Natalie we can’t stand her and everybody hates her attitude and I said oh great. I called customer service and asked if they could cancel my rooms and told them the situation and they told me no, I then walked inside and ask Natalie for her name the managers name, the owners name and contact information so that I could call and speak to them another day. she gave me two phone numbers, no manager name, no owners name and then said to me I was just trying to help you check in. I didn’t want to stay somewhere I felt uncomfortable with my three children.I left that hotel with no refund and booked another hotel somewhere else. I never been treated so rude and felt so uncomfortable. I travel a lot and book a lot hotels, I did not ask questions that no other hotel has not...
