Overall the hotel was pretty good for the cost & location.
We had a significant amount of fruit flies (gnats) in our room at check in, but we remedied it with a few homemade gnat catcher (dawn dish soap mixed with apple cider vinegar in a plastic covered cup with air holes), they diminished by the 2nd day. We determined that there was a continual leak in the bathroom/tub of the room above us (as the ceiling had significant yellowing of the drywall).
The pull out sofa was a bust, as the mattress & linens were visibly older(linens were yellow/orange from the springs visible from the holes in the foldup mattress, and the mattress was barely holding together). But the king size bed was comfortable, even though all the pillows were well used & had been laundered alot (lumpy), which we always expect & brought our own pillows. No bed bugs! We did find a single small roach on the final evening of our stay (it was super late, so we waited until checkout to notify staff), we killed it a flushed it.
Complimentary breakfast was non existent (came out to see only the juice dispenser (it was 9.30am, breakfast was over at 10am).
As with any hotel, there were apparent 'guests' who lived there continually, who hung out on the 2nd floor balcony at night on lawn chairs, but they didn't necessarily bother us, just slightly annoying when coming/going from room/vehicle at night, they were buscos.
Parking after early afternoon was a premium, with 2 spots being permanently taken by a guest or friend of owners, who had a food cart/truck set up & would 'open up shop' in the evening for hours.
Staff was always very friendly, and even had no problem reprograming our room keys after they stopped working a few times during our stay. They were appreciative of our notifying them of the issues we encountered, and assured us, had we told them earlier they would've attempted to remedy it or move us to another room (I didn't feel like being moved to a whole other room honestly).
Room had lots of storage space, ironing board was rusty & cover was dirty (we used it for an extra table for our beach items), large coffee table in front of the little sofa was bulky and heavy to move (suggest they put fabric sliders on it or maybe some casters). Shower was great.
Would definitely stay here again, maybe on another side of the hotel, and notify staff of issues...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I stayed here for five nights while visiting her family in Alamo before Labor Day weekend 2021.
The staff was extremely friendly whenever we needed anything (towels, bottles of water, etc.) and honored our Diamond status suite upgrade and late checkout requests (one o'clock) without a fuss. The staff here is an absolute gem.
The rest of the experience left some things to be desired.
The internet was often entirely offline or so slow as to render it unusable for all but the most basic of tasks (think checking email and even then it was quite slow). My girlfriend and I had to use our mobile hotspots for almost our entire stay.
Our toilet exuded a terrible smell throughout our stay. It smelled like an animal had died in the pipes and got stuck there. Yes, it was that bad in the bathroom. Also, the toilet clogged twice and we did not stuff anything down there we should not have.
The room itself was quite clean. We stayed in a studio suite on the first floor with an in-room hot tub we enjoyed using. The bed was comfortable and the hotel was quiet at night. I would have preferred better-positioned power outlets so you might want to bring an extension cord if you plan on working on your laptop for extended periods of time.
I didn't try the outdoor pool or hot tub but my girlfriend liked them and thought the temperature was perfect.
We declined room service so I can't speak to the quality of that but our room was quite clean when we checked in.
The hotel is located right off the highway so it's convenient for hopping on and off but there aren't many restaurants or other businesses within walking distance so you will absolutely need a car.
Bottom line: phenomenal staff, clean and comfortable rooms (aside from the smell in the bathroom), abysmal internet...

I am extremely disappointed in our stay. On top of driving a very long distance we get to check in and we are asked to leave a review to wave the $20 check in fee before 3pm on weekends that is no where on the confirmation email from booking. (Apparently it’s in their policies) But most importantly when the toilet over flowed for no reason we got up to use the restroom and noticed it was over flowing and when we asked the front desk for help we were given a plunger from the main bathroom in the waiting room in a bag. Then when I asked if someone could help mop up the nasty water everywhere I went back to the room to plunge the toilet and heard a knock I expected someone to help instead I am given a mop and empty mop bucket to mop the hotel room myself. So we fill it up and clean it because obviously no one was going to help us. Then we take the mop bucket back and the maids say "aye cabron" when some of the water splashes out from having to push the bucket over the door edge but never once offered to help. (No house keeping services until 11am is the only response we got) The nasty towels we had to use to soak up that water stayed in the freaking tub for 2 days afterwards. The maids wouldn't take out the trash and when they did they wouldn't leave new bags. We didn't get clean sheets until 4 days until our stay and that's it. (Apparently they don’t come in if there’s a do not disturb sign, we never hung up the do not disturb sign) Then we tried to get breakfast and the waffle mix was always empty. (Apparently this is normal breakfast per their response to me)
Although a professional response by edgar when he responded to my concerns, I wish I wouldn’t have had the...
