On their website it says "Once your reservation has been completed, your vacation worries will disappear. Check availability now on your soon to be unforgettable experience" Mine was certainly unforgettable. Unforgivable also.
I attempted to stay here with my service dog on October 4th 2015. I was polite and cordial the whole time. I had a room reserved over the phone. When I arrived to check in and get my room keys with my service animal, Lexy. The owner of this establishment aggressively screamed at me to leave while barreling out of an office door towards me like he was going to attack me. I actually side stepped in an attempt to get out of his way and protect myself and Lexy. Jason, the guy behind the front desk who had been checking me in, was trying to neutralize things and help by finding another hotel, The owner was so rude and blinded by anger, yelling at me that he screamed over me and Jason the entire 3 minuets of the attack. I would definitely call it an attack with how horrible he treated me. It was as if I broke something on purpose of his or stole money from him. He threatened me and said that I'm trespassing, that it's private property.
She is not a pet, she is a service animal who alerts me to oncoming medical emergencies. Thank god I didn't have a medical emergency because of his hysteria and hate directed towards me. I tryed to explain politely, but he wouldn't let me speak. He just kept saying how "you people are what's wrong with America" and how "I chose to come there instead of every other hotel that allows pets in this town" and that "why did I have to come to HIS hotel". As if I had it out for him and was trying to hurt him!
I was half afraid that he was going to kick Lexy! I think there might be something wrong with him...
All other "regular" hotels in town were booked and I couldn't stay another night in a "cabin style" hotel because it was uninsulated and the heaters didn't work.
Once he opened the door and made me go outside, the old man continued to berate me until I was crying. I couldn't think, I had to get away from him, and sat in my car for a half an hour trying to comprehend what just happened. He is an old man and I was a young lady, how could he think it appropriate to scream at me? Getting so close to my face that he was spitting on me and I had to continue to back up as he went on and on. He was physically intimidating and discriminatory.
They seem to think that if they found you another hotel to stay in, that it was OK for them to deny me.
Well he is gravely mistaken. He not only violated my civil rights that day but it is a crime, a misdemeanor in the state of Montana to deny a person with a disability and a service animal at their establishment.
I told him if I had had a different disability then diabetes I could've been on the floor convulsing because of how crazy he created the situation to be. and I said that he would've had to call an ambience. His response?........... " I don't care!"
Needless to say, if you have a service animal do not go here until the federal courts punch this...
Read more100% loved our stay here. The town of Gardiner is super small and quaint which we loved and pulling into our hotel was a pleasant sweet feeling of home. It is very well kept inside and out. Parking was always easy. The lobby and seating area for breakfast area was inviting and we spent our mornings there before we started our busy day. Check in was by a young man who was welcoming and accommodating. Our room was upstairs with 2 queen beds that were incredibly comfortable, and we had great sleep the entire time. We dropped bags and went to the local grocery store to grab items for dinner (not big restaurant people), came back to the outside picnic tables of hotel and had dinner watching the sun go down over the mountains. Our leftovers could fit perfectly into the refrigerator in our rooms and be used up the next day. Shower pressure and temp was perfect. The next morning, we being the "east coast girls", woke up hours before anyone else, walked downstairs to be greeted by the owner who had been awake and prepping coffee and breakfast. He was incredibly friendly and welcoming and spent the time with us to share safety information around town and the park, the history of town and his family hotel, and his own personal family travels. Mornings spent catching up with him were definitely a highlight. The bagged breakfast was a perfect alternate to the covid change ups as we could just pick 1 out of 3 options and head into Yellowstone quick. In the afternoons back at the hotel, we would be greeted by his wife and or daughter to welcome us back and start all over. I kept saying to my friend that it felt like we were in our bedroom upstairs of our family home. It just felt incredibly safe and cozy. Thank you Bert and Wanda for your genuine hospitality and kindness. You guys were a highlight of our travel, and we hope to see you again someday as we pass...
Read moreClean rooms, great service, great breakfast, this was the most comfortable inn I have been to in a while. Location is very close to Yellowstone National Park (North) and is in a little town with great shops and restaurants. Watch out for the prices of some restaurants, though.
The staff and the owner work very hard to keep the inn running well. Itâs filled with wonderful decor from all of Yellowstone, with great artwork and pictures. The entire hotel is furnished with to make it feel like a lodge. The owner, Bert (or Burt), was very delightful and shows his willingness to care for his guests. All of his staff, from check in, to breakfast, then to check-out, also showed their genuine care for their guests. I observed staff, including the owner, assisting with the cleaning of the rooms.
The room I stayed in was a standard queen room, which had an open area (where the bed was) and a little area for the sink and the bathroom. The room was presented as advertised (no pictures attached), and we were very satisfied since we were camping out in the cold for the past three nights. Loved their little touches with the furniture and the decor to make it look like a lodge. The rooms are furnished to the standard of a 2-star motel.
Breakfast was very surprising (in a good way). There were three healthy options to choose from (see picture), and they were given in a paper bag. For a free motel breakfast, this was very luxurious. You could eat in your room or in the breakfast area, where there was a microwave and toaster. There is juice and instant oatmeal at breakfast, but there is tea and coffee around the clock (and they have a very wide selection of tea too!!). I was very glad that it wasn't greasy eggs and bacon :)
Thank you to all the staff for making this a very delightful stay for us! Will definitely stay with this inn next time...
