We got into town late, so our options were limited. The Yellowstone Mine was open, busy, and looked good. We were seated quickly. Then we got filled water glasses & some bread in record time. Next, our drink & meal orders were taken quickly by a friendly waitress. She was assisted by two efficient, smiling helpers.
My husband & I ordered the hamburgers cooked medium. He asked for only mayonnaise and lettuce with fries. I asked for the burger with a salad with ranch dressing, instead of the fries. My husband got his burger with lettuce and NO mayo. He asked again for mayo, but when it didn’t come in the next five minutes, he settled for catsup and mustard which was on the table. My dinner was fine. Both burgers were delicious, but a tad over cooked. His burger would have been better with mayo.
Our friends ordered garlic Parmesan wings (very good) and a Caesar salad with grilled chicken. He got his wings when we got out burgers. She got her salad (more mixed greens than Romaine) and NO chicken five minutes after we got our burgers and wings. The waitress said it was coming. She never mentioned or brought the mayo my husband requested when she delivered our burgers.
The grilled chicken came ten minutes later, with apologies and “no charge.” It was peppery and our friend could not eat it. She thought it would be bland. Did I mention it was her birthday?
Aside from not getting his burger the way he ordered it, and her getting a Caesar salad that really wasn’t a Caesar salad with spicy chicken delivered after she ate half her salad, it wasn’t a total disaster. But it came close. I doubt we’ll try eating here again, but we might. The wings and my burger were good. And our waitress was nice. Her helpers were especially efficient at keeping our water glasses filled and clearing our dishes away when we were done. I wish I could be more positive, but this was not the pleasant birthday celebration we hoped for - it just wasn’t...
Read moreBasically had dinner in the restaurant. Food was mediocre at best. We were told we could spin a wheel in the bar area to win a prize, we abliged and entered the bar area where a free beer was won on a spinning wheel. We proceeded to having a conversation with a couple about politics in which the the couple was engaged and like minded. A female bartender who was eves dropping on our conversation stated that politics and religion could not be discussed at the bar. We were asked to leave the bar and that we would no longer be served. We had not ordered drinks and had only had the free beer that was won while in the bar. The bartender got the manager from the restaurant we had just eaten in and the manager told us we'd need to vacate the bar as the bar had rules of not speaking politics or religion. This is a disgusting display of Americans not being entitled to their first ammendment rights and being bullied. As a patron I would never frequent an establishment that would negate my personal beliefs especially whole in private conversations while being threatened. Overall a horrible experience. As patrons of the adjoining hotel the Ridgeline a complaint filed with management an apology was given and further investigation will follow as nobody no matter your political affiliation should be judged. Hoping this is hacked accordingly and that employees know their place as it's the very patrons that keeps establishments as such up...
Read moreOverpriced. Bad service. The food was OK. I got meatloaf (fancied up) and mashed potatoes which were good but wouldn't order that again because it wasn't great. My husband got a bison burger and fries. He didn't eat all of the burger and said the fries were not good so he didn't finish them either. How do you mess up fries? We both got the chili and it was good. Just needed salt. The thing that was so negative was that we stood at the hostess stand for several mins waiting to be seated and were not acknowledged in any way by the man who ended up being our server. He must've been putting an order in. I understand if he thinks it isn't his job to seat us but he should've said something like someone will be with you shortly. He completely ignored us even though he was 3 feet from us and there were no other people around. We were about to leave when the hostess came back from somewhere and sat us at the worst table there (cramped with no cute lantern light like the others and view obstructed by a large beam right at the table). We were moved at our request because there was a much better table open in the same section (several were open actually). Our server, the man that ignored us, was not friendly. He did not bring our drinks and we had to ask for them after our food had arrived. To end on a positive note...the atmosphere was really great. The place had a cool vibe to it. We were glad...
