The 90s wants their hotel back. I thought was nostalgic that the room actually had physical keys then when I got in the room and I think they last up late was maybe 2005 based solely on the flat screen TV. The bathroom fan bearing was shot so sounded like a cricket. The TV had movie order button and no way to use a hdmi cable or apps to use your Netflix. Last time I saw movie order like that was the early 2000s. The screen was flickering and shaky so couldn’t even use it. All the outlets were so shot that if a fly buzzed by it the plug would fall on the floor. The pool was closed and when we booked over 3 months ago it was mentioned so I figured it needed work and it would been good when we arrived. Nope and when look at the building permit or fine from city wasn’t sure which all it was for is to replace the water banged dry wall. How does changing dry wall take months to complete. Using the elevator that smell like 50 year old grease and buttons all broken felt like a shaved few years off my life using it. When I put my hand to stop it and kept going and when it would stop at your floor it would free fall a few inches while the door was opening. Maybe because our event but they gave us breakfast card and they were only for basic stuff forgot the names of breakfasts but the eggs, bacon, sausage and French toast was a 7 dollar up charge. Figuring they put no money into anything they could let you eat the full breakfast without being cheap but no. We had a dance convention and when everyone was dancing the floors would felt so I felt by the end of the event we would have crashed down to the first floor. On the third floor which is the convention center section floor you can see all the water damage from the sky light and the chandelier holding on for it life not to come crashing down by state of all The water damage around it. We where there for 3 nights and 4 days for the event and not once did cleaning service come to our room we had go to front for one roll of toilet paper at a time because nothing was stocked in the room and they have a set to leave a tip envelope on the table. I should have left them a bill! I forgot to add but this makes perfect sense not on Sunday which they advertised a brunch they used plastic utensils but on the weekdays we had metal and cloth napkins how does that make any sense should save your good stuff for weekend and use the plastic on the weekdays low foot traffic, but I am not a hotel owner so maybe I am wrong. This by far wasn’t a gross hotel but the worst hotel in service and even amenities I been to. Oh oh I forgot the best park none of room I at least think don’t have a microwave so you have go to main lobby to use it. To think with 4 floors of rooms they have a fleet of microwaves for all the guests to reheat their food. NOPE lol! They have one microwave on its last leg and you have wait in line for it. When I stopped at local Walmart they had them for 50 a piece maybe I should bought 5 of them and asked for collection from all the rooms. So we could reheat our leftovers efficiently. So in the end I hope the 90s comes to collect this dump and brings this falling apart fossil into at least the 2010s maybe in 2050 we can get a 2025...
Read moreThe worst hotel that I've ever stayed in! A bit about me. I travel a lot, I'm 'Ambassador' level status with Marriott Hotels, and I've already stayed well over 110 nights with them this year. So I'm used to dealing with hotels and the teams working in them. This is NOT a Marriott brand hotel.
Upon arrival I was greeted by a lady at the front desk who looked ill and sounded terrible, she shouldn't have been working and dealing with the public. This was a Monday evening, and when I asked what time the bar closed, she replied "The bar and restaurant don't open until Thursday" It turns out the there was no breakfast service until Thursday either! I was there for a two day conference with my company, who did arrange for breakfast to be bought into the conference room. My room was old and tired looking, just like the whole hotel, and it spelt damp and musty. Well, I woke up covered in nasty red bite marks all over my back, neck, arms and legs! The bed sheet was covered in blood spots which I was confused about until I looked in the bathroom mirror. Clearly I had been eaten by bedbugs, which is disusing! I wasn't told when checking in that there was no housekeeping service, I had to ask for this if I required it. I was given the excuse that CoVid has prevented them from operating with a full staff! This is in June 2023!! More like they don't have any customers. When I reported the bites and bedbug situation to the front desk team, they didn't seem bothered at all by my complaint which upset me even more. The hotel also OVER CHARGED me for my stay! My company had negotiated a discounted rate, which they hadn't applied to my invoice. I sent an email to the person at my company who arranged this hotel to inform them of this horrific stay, and she asked for a full refund of my stay, which the hotel did agree to do but screwed that up as well! They provided me with a refund on the discounted rate, not on the actual rate that I paid!! So at the time of writing this review, I'm still owned money which they are saying that I have already received! They are blaming my bank for this error! I bank with a large bank, who have checked for me and they state that There was a refund pending, whoever the hotel cancelled it! This hotel is to be avoided at all costs! Unless you don't mind dirty unhygienic beds and rooms, no breakfast, no housekeeping unless you request it but not told at check in that you have to request it! No evening restaurant or bar, well not until Thursday! And staff that appears to be incapable in resolving my refund! Mistakes happen, I get that, but this place is operated like 'Faulty Towers', the 1970's/80's English...
Read moretl;dr: avoid at all costs.
As you pull in, the entire entrance is overgrown with weeds. This is a conference center, a wedding venue. Please, admire how little they care about the image. Don't worry, when you pull out and try to turn left you will noticed overgrowth blocking your view of west bound traffic.
There are well positioned parking places for check-ins only. Importantly, the handicapped parking was prominent and available. There are luggage trolleys inside the stained and rusted doors. Don't worry, the trolleys are in equally poor condition, and there is no staff willing and/or able to assist. They didn't care about the first impression, so I doubted they cared about anything else.
Check-in was fine. Walking down the hall, dodging an air purifier. Took a left turn, another purifier. It was 97 outside and dry. Inside the halls, you could feel the dampness. Mind the steps, there are gaps in the carpet. The parts without gaps are frayed with loose bits.
Made it to the room. Perhaps they use physical keys as a niche thing, or they never bothered renovating. Inside the room, the dampness immediately was replaced by very cool air. No problem though, set the temp to 70. As it normalized the dampness in the room appeared.
Then, I noticed the peeling wallpaper, the water stains on the ceiling of the bathroom, the poor caulking of the cracked shower unit. Killed half a dozen gnats while bringing in the luggage, all of which seemed to have congregated in the room despite it not being a buggy June in Westford.
Here is the hard bit for me, the staff. One was a jerk, straight up interrupting a question to say I should "listen". Here I acknowledge that the experience had gone sour on me. I removed this experience from my overall scoring of the review. I could have been having a bad day, so could that staff member. One was apologetic while admitting impotence. It was an awful experience, but with so much wrong with the building, it is hard to have anyone on staff that says: yes, this horrible dumpster fire is a good experience. So to both the front desk folk: Good luck.
Atavism caused me to book a 5 night stay. The location was central to a couple family functions. Of the expected 120 hours, I lasted 6 hours before I drove back home in the middle of the night. My other family members that were staying managed to make it 7 more hours.
There was a prescient moment, as I parked behind the building. Lichen grew over one of the granite posts. It no longer said: FIRE LANE. It read: IRE LANE.
So here is my review. This place is awful. From ownership to the management they just don't care. Spend less money, get a room...
