A fresh bowl of rip-off! They have $80 and I have nothing. That’s not Oki! The OkiPoke in Westford would not honor an $80 gift card presented to them along with the receipt. Their gift card system is a primitive one that relies on employees hand-writing notes to each other on a paper card. What happens if they say they can’t read the amount hand-written on the card? They keep the money and you get nothing! I did not have the heart to tell the person who gave me this card that they just flushed $80 down the toilet. If you receive one of these certificates, you better treat it like your social security card! Laminate it, keep it safe from the wear and tear of a wallet, and make sure the employees who write on it have good pens and penmanship! Don’t give them any excuse to rip you off, because they’ll look for one!
They had a choice: trust the customer and their own dumb system, or SCAM THE CUSTOMER out of goods/services owed to them.
Since I cannot directly reply to the owners’ reply, I have edited in my reply here:
You had your own record? WHY DIDN’T YOU USE IT?!!! It seems like the perfect time to use those internal records, especially since I provided a receipt!
Excellent news about wasting your ingredients! This nudges the scales ever so slightly away from your ill-gotten $80. I don’t want customers to be misled either. That’s what these reviews are for.
Why bring up that the date of purchase was last month? That’s only proof that it was a last-minute birthday gift. I attempted to get some Famous-Bowl-style-sushi the first time I happened to be anywhere near Westford or Burlington since then… but it was too late. Time to get some plastic cards like everywhere else!
I’m delighted that you take negative reviews seriously enough to reply. You’ll find the same review across three other platforms. Of course, you would have to expect this when you rip a customer off so blatantly… I’d have to assume it’s...
Read moreWhile the food at Okipoke was wonderful and this was our first time trying it, the experience was completely overshadowed by the incredibly rude and unprofessional behavior of the staff. We visited on April 13th around 6:00 PM for dinner, and were shocked by how we were treated. A young man and two women were working at the time, and as my fiancé and I moved down the line to order our poke bowls, they made side comments about our food choices and laughed among themselves.
The most upsetting part was their condescending attitude—they even questioned whether we were sure we wanted chopsticks, implying that we didn’t know how to use them. It was humiliating and offensive. We have never been treated with such blatant disrespect in a restaurant before.
Although we paid, sat down, and ate our food, the entire experience left us feeling deeply uncomfortable and unwelcome. Unfortunately, due to the way we were treated by the staff, we likely won’t be returning—no matter how good the food was. It’s incredibly disappointing to be made to feel mocked and judged in what should be a welcoming...
Read moreI have now ordered twice from The Okipoke and both times I was blown away. The food is sensational. Additionally, if you consider how much food you get and what it costs, no one else in the area comes close. Don't get me wrong, Chipotle which is just down the road and Five Guys which right around the corner are also good options, but The Okipoke is a great option. I've had the salmon, tuna, and shrimp and I've been astounded by the quality. The food is fresh, is flavorful, and filling but in a good way. You don't feel slow and sluggish after consuming is. If you are looking for a healthier fast food alternative, The Okipoke is the answer. If you are looking for a filling and inexpensive dinner; you guessed it, The Okipoke...
