The White Lake View Motel — Hotel in White Lake Charter Township

I never leave reviews, I only do if the experience was something to write home about. My boyfriend and I usually hit up the best western on M-59 by Hartland, but this one was closer to my work. I need to preface this by saying I work in restoration, meaning I’ve seen some filthy homes destroyed by sewage and water. Those houses were cleaner than this motel. It is definitely a “no tell motel” I figured it wouldn’t be so bad being in White Lake which is relatively nice but this motel is a boil on the side of M-59. Our chair had a massive rip in the middle, there were stickers on mirrors and crudely put together furniture. The shower looked like it had suffered a sewage back-up and was just left to rot. And the air was thick with cigar and cigarette stench. We finally called it quits when we saw a cockroach on the wall and I started to itch. We left and didn’t even stay the night.

The most disgusting, nasty motel I have ever seen. Carpet completely trashed, stinks, rust stains throughout bathroom, various pieces of used old furniture, pipes from base heating showing throughout room. Not only had to pay cash ($60/night + $5 key deposit), but when we left next morning the management would not answer the office door to return our deposit. What a shame, it is the only place in the area! Someone should build another motel/hotel in the area; it would be a gold mine. Only reason I even stayed is because I refuse to drink and drive when not...

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. I'm outside on my break from work and I get shot in the arm with a huge piece of gravel. Apparently the man who works at the hotel was mowing the lawn and decided to mow over gravel. When I go to confront him to tell him what happened he looks at me like I'm the stupid one and say's hmmm I'm sorry. Wow really, I work with my hands and arms at work and now get to go back to work with concrete stuck in my arm, burning and stinging. I tried calling but oh course no one answers. Some real winners who work up there....
