12-2018 update: This place was assumed by new owners this year. I was glad to see they kept the menu the same as I have 3 favorites and order them in rotation as I am there at least 1x per month. Where there used to be a substantial wait time (I never minded) the quality has certainly taken a nosedive. The last time i went, my curry dish came out lightening fast and was cooked so carelessly. I was scooping out small lumps of spice that was not blended in. The sauce had little flavor. My most recent prior visit to that was equally disappointing when I ordered my favorite satay and the dipping sauce was drastically different. I dare say it was simply off brand peanut butter thinned out with oil. Chicken had no grill char to it and it is very clear to me the new owners are cutting corners to expedite service time-I can get fast food anywhere, I chose to frequent this establishment for years because the quality was amazing. I have no reason to go back. I'm very bummed, this was my favorite place to eat! I can no longer reccomend.
I ignored this place for years. I assumed this little joint located in the strip mall adjacent to a pet food store and Leo's coney island, was another "#5 combo with fried rice and a spring roll" places. Man, was I missing out.. First of all, the owner/chef is right off the shores of Thailand and, after several visits you find out her husband is a veteran. Reason #1 to support this local small business. She is very, very picky, so picky that she generally won't let anyone else cook. Everything is made very fresh while you wait a very long time. I've gone in at 4:45 on a Friday and had my meal within 1/2 hour ish. 6pm or later? Forget it. I've waited 2 hours for food, and I don't care. It's that.damn.good. CD11(catfish curry) is only available at the dinner service time and is worth every noise my stomach makes waiting for it. This place is tiny! So damn tiny I'm amazed it hasn't occurred to any of the impatient previous posters that there is probably very limited space in which to hold pre-prepped items so that is why stuff is always made to order. And you have to build a curry. It's not coming out of a carton from Gordons Foodservice. Love goes into it. It's definitely not a place I'd take small children or my whole family to, but it is a great place for date night, a business meeting, or place to meet up with friends and actually engage in each other for an hour and a half or so...
Read moreWe went to Siam Fusion as we have for the last 18 years. To say we were disappointed is such an understatement. A few months ago they put deodorizing sprays that plug-in in their bathrooms and set both of them too high. The entire restaurant, which used to smell like amazing Thai food, now reeks of tropical floral scents that have triggered asthma attacks for members of my family. We asked them to please remove them or turn them down, but each time we have gone in over the last few months one or more members of my family has had to leave due to the triggering of asthma attacks with does not usually happen for us. In addition, when we tried to eat the food while we were there with the deodorizers, we couldn’t even taste the food or smell it because the deodorizing scent was so overwhelming . We voiced our concerns and our requests to remove the deodorizers have been ignored. That was disappointing. We accepted that we needed to do carry out and that I am the only one in my family who can go in to get the food.
Today, however, when I went to pick up the food, they had new containers for carry out that held a quarter of the size of food that their old containers held. One container filled two child size bowls. When I asked if they were communicating this change, and explained that it clearly was a substantial decrease in the amount of food, they said that it was just the new size of the containers.
I am including photos so you can understand the size and how little we got for $60. One container of food filled two small child bowls—that was all.
I am sad to say for the years that we had wonderful service and food that I never took a moment to say how wonderful we thought Siam Fusion was. Even when the original owner sold, we enjoyed a good quality at a fair price. It is only been in the last year that we have been incredibly disappointed.
Even when there were price increases over 18 years, we understood without question or complaint. But this is the last...
Read moreI've known of Siam Fusion for quite some time now, but just never tried it, because... Bangkok City Thai (in downtown Milford) is my favorite Thai restaurant (and the best Thai cuisine that I've ever had). We were going to order take out from Bangkok City, but they were closed... and we NEEDED some Thai THAT night! Anyhow, my wife & I ordered three different dishes:
Gang Panang - (She had noodles added to it) this dish is essentially Peanut Curry noodle. My wife enjoyed it, however it wasn't as good as Bangkok City's.
Pad Vermicelli - This dish would be the equivalent of Pad Gai We both had a portion of this dish, and it was incredibly good! Definitely the best iteration of this dish that we've had, at any Thai restaurant.
Thai Legend Noodles - This dish here, is Red coconut curry noodle So this dish, is my staple go-to dish, whenever I order take out from Bangkok City (whom has THE best iteration of this dish). So anyhow, I think this dish was okay, it didn't impress me much. Some critique: I ordered extra sauce, (and it really didn't have extra sauce), and the sauce was very thick. The flavor was okay, but not even close to as good as my fav.
In closing, a couple things to note: I ordered mild spice on all of the dishes, and the spice level on every dish was what I consider to be medium, to medium - hot. The last thing is the prices here are considerably higher than any other Thai restaurant in southeast Michigan. If Siam Fusion is your go-to Thai spot, and you haven't tried another place, and your willing to try Bangkok City Thai in Milford, then prepare to have the bar raised. It's worth the drive, you'll thank me, and yourself for taking the dive. Siam Fusion is okay, in a pinch, but it ain't no...
