Hyatt Place Wichita State University — Hotel in Wichita

Great looking place, awesome walking areas and super clean rooms. Breakfast staff was super nice and other staff was decent until you check out and they spring a 75.00 per fee on you. Even though Expedia, nor the front desk nor Google review site say there is a fee. I’ll attach a screenshot of the Google search data. I understand pet fees but I think that the fee should be on the Expedia page and or made aware at check in.(and removed from the Google search, which can be done by the host of the Google profile) Not sprung on you as you are leaving and starting your day. Horrible way to leave your last impression on your customers. I can’t stand when I feel attacked over fees and money after the fact. Tell me Ahead of time and let me make the decision not to check in. Don’t hang it over my head and make me feel like we did something wrong while traveling with our pet. We always look for pet friendly places and make sure to check for pet fees and pay them when they are made aware. As someone who stays at hotels for half the year around the world. I guess I’ll remove this place off my hotel list. Just be cool and tell your customers especially new customers up front not after the fact. Bully tactics are hike and cost you a ton in the end. Update: Staff are super nice. I got here Sunday and they have had severe internet issues since i got here. Its now wednesday during our stay and internet is still not fixed. Its not a bad AP its thier internet. They at least have a ticket in woth thier isp but still not acceptable. Large hotel chain that promises business solutions on site for guests and no backup internet? Very disapointed and this directly comes down to management. This is one owner who will not be back.

I can only give this place a 3 star. The location is fantastic. Near everything and right near the campus. Couldnt find a more perfect spot for hotel room 5/5 easy!!! Now the bad......breakfast here is pretty bad. Cold eggs, out of stuff just not great but not horrible either. 2.5/5. Staying here for a week and 3 days in and breakfast just kinda sucks. We always stay at a hyatt too so first time complaining. Feels wierd. Also,y biggest issue, let me write that in bold...(INTERNET HERE IS HORRIBLE! IF YOU NEED TO WORK AND ARE AT THIS HOTEL YOU WILL DOSCONNECT EVERY COUPLE MINUTES. CONSTANT 3-4 MBPS SPEEDS. CANT EVEN TAKE A WORK MEETING HERE!) I want to rate lower just for those reasons alone. While trying to check in my receptionist would not give me a clear answer about prices. She DID NOT ask if we wanted a bathtub. The nightshift reception person kept blocking off areas that are open usually so he could sit back at the table. I was on a important phone call and he was asking me questions which was extremely rude. I was trying to get to a silent area so I may hear my phone call better instead he blocked the area off as if we wasn't allowed in that area when I asked he said we are allowed in that area. The music was annoying. The hallway carpet looks like they picked the cheapest crap people can pick on and it'll be okay. They art mostly matches the puck floor. No balcony no hot tub not many amenities all staff was rude accept the only man of color whom works the front area he was the ONLY ONE Who both treated us made us feel welcomed and helped with any questions I had. My bf works at the other Hyatt in Wichita and nobody helped us to get his discounts. The Hyatt doesn't care about their employees and it shows in the way they approach anyone who walks in the door.
