Hubby and I booked a 3 night stay-cation for New Years. Property is conveniently located yet set back from the bustle. Clean, well-designed and appointed room. Tv’s don’t go loud, no matter how much you turn up the volume which of course ensures quiet for all guests. Blackout shades provide restful mornings. Firm mattress and supple pillows make for a pleasant sleep. Ladies be warned: there is no face soap or lotion, only hand soap and body wash firmly attached to the wall in pump bottles.
Exercise room has strong plastic odor, probably because everything in it is so new…kind of like new car smell, which I’m sure will fade in time. Pool was comfortably heated. Breakfast was popular and admittedly I’m a picky eater, but I was disappointed. The elevator boasted a photo of an egg, sausage, cheese & roasted potato bowl that I salivated over, but they didn’t offer. Coffee tasted burnt/over-roasted. All the cereals were sugar-heavy. The only yogurt had added sugar along with bio-engineered ingredients according to the label. The biscuits were fresh and fluffy, but the sausage gravy was sweet. The jalapeño egg muffin was nicely spicy. The gouda and brioche breakfast sandwich was tasty, but I was hungry again less than two hours later.
Discovered mid-shower that our conditioner bottle was empty. As we passed the housekeeper in the hall, we stopped to ask if she had some. She smiled and said “no English.” I tried Italian, but that didn’t work either. She shook her head and shrugged. We asked at the front desk and her response was to radio someone. I said: “oh they have to get into the room? Because we were just leaving and the ‘do not disturb’ sign’s on the door.” She leveled me with a glare and replied: “do you want it or not?” I was stunned. Hubby replied that we did, ran back up to the room just in time to catch the guy who was walking away due to the aforementioned sign.
The night before our departure, we called the desk to ask about a late check out and were told we could have until noon—a 1hr extension. Hubby asked: “so if we wanted a later check-out, there would be a charge for that?” A lot of places will allow until 2pm or so, for $30 or so. The reply was: “well, you’d have to get permission.” Then silence. Funny, I thought we’d made it clear that’s what we were calling for.
Great rooms and decent amenities but the employees were shockingly lacking save one: positive shout-out to the security fellow who walked the property, who was super friendly and just awesome. Really made me feel welcomed and comfortable. He needs...
Read moreHubs and I were traveling home from Key West and this was our first overnight stop. It truly set the barre pretty high for any other stops the rest of the trip home and I am here to tell you that noplace even came close. Check-in with Craig could not have been easier that Saturday night! He was very welcoming and he made sure we had everything we could need for our stay. The room, wow, the room was AMAZING!! It was huge, had a wonderful kitchen (even a dishwasher), a spacious bathroom, a sofa sleeper in half the room, and king bed in the other half. The kitchen was well-appointed, stocked with dishes, silverware, bowls, cookware, everything you could need to prepare multi-course meals if you choose. The desk converted into a dining table or could be used for additional office space if needed, or game table, or...... There was an adjoining room which we didn't need, but is good to know for future travels. Also, they have electronic, push-button, room-darkening blinds
With the excitement we had when we saw how great the room was and the kitchen with all of it's bonuses, we returned to the car to grab some of the uncooked food from vacation and returned to the room for a late night micro-feast. That helped us relax. Along with wonderful hot showers, and enjoying the softest sheets I'd ever experienced in a hotel before, we had no choice but to sleep like babies... These sheets/blankets were amazing! I have a rare nerve condition and one of the biggest symptoms of the disease is Allodynia, feeling severe pain from a stimulus that should not provoke pain at all (like a feather brushed along skin or air from a fan causing intense, exaggerated pain). So the softness of the sheets & bedding was incredible and I will reveal a secret... Before checking out, I looked at every edge of the sheet to find a label so I could buy some for home. Breakfast... Hey, served until 11...how awesome! I didn't need to set an alarm to not miss breakfast. It was all very good. The fresh fruit was delicious... I could've grabbed the whole bowl! We chatted briefly with the sweet woman who was working in the kitchen. Such a darling lady!! If you are looking for a very affordable place to lay your head for a night or more, you absolutely must consider this Home2 Suites in Wildwood. We will definitely return and we'll look for other locations of Home2 Suites. The barre...
Read moreI stayed at this hotel for 3 full weeks (March-April 2023), and my experience was...AWESOME! I was an out of town guest visiting my 94 year old mother in an assisted living facility who was recovering from a fall and covid. At first I stayed at a different hotel for 1 night and then left, because it was a dump. I did not feel safe there. Desperately seeking a place where I would feel safe, and close to where my mother was, I found Home2Suites by Hilton...Wow! What a difference! Scott Mangene (Assistant General Manager) was very understanding of my situation. The rate he quoted me for 3 weeks was fair and reasonable, and I so very much appreciate the compassion he showed me. He stuck to the rate he quoted for my stay at Home2Suites. There were no hidden fees, sudden changes, or glitches along the way. The entire 3 weeks went so smoothly. Thank you, Scott, for being a man of your word! Every morning at this hotel I was greeted by a team of friendly people preparing a complimentary hot breakfast for everyone. One person especially stood out, and that person was Crag Corn. Crag circulated among the guests, taking time to speak to each one, making each guest feel welcome. I have never had an experience like this before. He created a real family atmosphere, so I didn't feel so alone in a new place. Also, there was a healthy dose of laughter...What a great way to start the day! All of the staff at this hotel was so friendly! The people at the front desk, the gals who cleaned my room, etc.! I never saw anyone who looked like they were bored with their job, or not getting along with their co-workers. The night before my flight left Florida to go back home, I stayed at a hotel next to the airport. It was the same price as 1 night at Home2Suites, but oh...what a difference! Nowhere near as nice as Home2Suites! To anyone looking for a hotel with a management team that has integrity, and offers a fair price, no-stress, clean, and super friendly atmosphere, look no further than Home2Suites by Hilton at 7555 Penrose Place, in Wildwood, Florida! Thank you to ALL of the staff for making my stay so enjoyable, and memorable! With a bundle of...
