It is estimated that 51% of the 15,000+ residents in Wildwood, Fl and 81% of residents in The Villages, FL are over the age of 65.
It should be of no surprise to the people working at this brand new, absolutely gorgeous, Target that the majority of their clientele are over the age of 65 years old. To date the only place for a senior citizen, ADA patron or anyone else for that matter to sit down at this store is just OUTSIDE (in 92 degree heat) of the building to the far left of the liquor store.
I took the time to do an online survey and had a kind reply back from the customer care/hospitality lead that they would work with me on the fact that there needs to be a bench or somewhere for elderly people to sit in the store.Currently, the only seating is in dressing rooms or on the “hover rounds”.
I received the nice email back last week. The email requested that I call or email back to discuss my concern. Ok… since then ZERO follow up zero returns of my phone calls nothing. Was their initial response just lip service???
Lady Lake Target has chairs and benches right near customer service as well as some places to sit at the Starbucks counter. I realize Starbucks is a separate entity from Target but this store has no seating even at Starbucks. Which, even if they did have seating that should be reserved for Starbucks, customers in my opinion - I get that.
There should be is at least a chair or a bench somewhere in this store. A bench could be located within the first set of doors for elder/ADA people to sit on INSIDE with the air-conditioning. The majority of the stores within The Villages and Lady Lake and surrounding areas have at least a chair or even better, a bench inside of stores for people to sit on.
If you are over the age of 65 this lack of seating should bother you. My 86 yr old mother was in a store somewhere near here. I am not sure which one where she literally had to sit on the concrete floor because she thought she was going to pass out and needed to rest. She just needed a place to rest for a couple of minutes. No one bothered to check if she was even OK as she sat against a while on concrete.
This being a brand new Target, it should not be difficult to put in a bench or two. I think, what bothers me the most, is I got lip service via an email. I got a positive email back and now zero response and I find that to be unacceptable.
My dad has said he will not shop in this Target. He would rather drive 10 miles to Lady Lake then go a mile and a half to this store just so that he can sit in a chair while his wife shops. It’s not rocket science! The clientele at this target are going to be majority over 65.
If you care about seating for patrons in need, please reach out to the manager of the store - thank you on behalf of those who need to a...
Read moreDisappointed by Customer Service — Check Expiration Dates Carefully
I recently purchased a package of peppered salami that turned out to be WAY past its expiration date. I called customer service to report the issue, and they assured me I could come in for an exchange. However, when I arrived, the staff member at the counter barely acknowledged me, tossed the expired item aside, tossed a new one on the counter and said, “Good luck."
I wasn’t expecting an apology, but I did expect a basic level of professionalism. This experience left me questioning the store’s commitment to both food safety and...
Read moreBeautiful new store, well stocked and plenty of employees on the floor pleasant and eager to help. BUT.. only two checkout lines open both days I went there causing long lines. STORE MANGER - you need to have help who pay attention to this and can flex in to handle peaks or you are going to have many disgruntled customers who won’t be returning. One of the checkout employees even told me lots of people on the floor but more needed at...
