Paul and Lisa are awesome hosts who offer a very laid back stress free experience. We paid $30 each a night to stay in the dorm room. As PCT hikers normally if you asked for the PCT discount you’d get an additional 15% off but due to Covid this year there hasn’t been the same high volume of traffic passing thru so Paul explained they couldn’t afford to offer that discount this year which we understood and agreed with however since it was still being advertised Paul wanted to be fair and honest so he offered us a cash refund for the 15% which we appreciated but declined to except. Last thing any of us wants is these types of businesses to be forced to close there doors under circumstances which aren’t there fault so I’ll gladly pay more if it helps keep the doors open for years to come.
It should be said that they are following all Covid government regulations by offering a clean sanitized environment, requiring everyone to wear face masks when inside, offering hand sanitizer at each entrance point and have limited capacity by 50% to ensure proper distancing guidelines are being met. Additionally guests are being spaced out to stay in different dorms (when possible) well beyond the 6ft requirements just to avoid further unnecessary contact with each other. Both Paul and Lisa are no exception to the rules even while being in there own home and do always wear masks.
I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone needing a place to stay and would suggest not asking for any discounts at this time at least until things return back to normal (if they ever do) so others can continue to enjoy and have a place to stay in the future. We all have to do our part to help the mom & pop businesses stay afloat even if it means we all pay a few extra bucks out of our own pockets to make...

This is basically the end of the line for this area in the winter. A quaint and amazingly friendly outdoor town gem tucked at the base of the North Cascades range and not all that far from the Pacific Crest trail. This is a perfect spot to take some extra time to recoup if you're starting or finishing the hike or even enjoy a winter outing based out of Winthrop. Paul really loves back country skiing!
Audrey and Paul are the most gracious and laid back hosts. Take the time to get to know them if you can but they will also offer you total privacy if that's your desire. Booking is easy and they are very flexible with check in and check out as long as you communicate.
Accommodations are clean and cozy. Get a private space or one of the two bunk rooms. In the group bunks there are fans and AC or heat available to keep you comfy and mask white noise. Bring an eye mask with any hostel stay and ear plugs of course and you'll be happy.
The private spaces are adorable and thoughtfully put together. Bathrooms are clean and not complicated to use. Town is LITERally just down the hill with a private path off the property to the road. You are IN town! And a charming one at that!
Look up what they have to offer, book and enjoy an amazing niche of the NW few know...
Read moreStayed at the hostel for two nights during a weekend in August, and it was absolutely wonderful! The space has been newly remodeled, and everything felt exceptionally clean, safe, and welcoming. As a solo female traveler, I stayed in one of the bunk rooms and felt completely comfortable throughout my stay. One thoughtful touch I really appreciated was the nightly whiteboard listing the names of everyone in the bunk rooms. It made it easy to see which bunks were occupied and helped anticipate if anyone might be arriving late, a small detail that made a big difference. The kitchen was impressively well-equipped with everything you might need. I especially loved the designated shelves for free dry goods and fridge items, they came in handy for those little things I forgot to pack! The location was perfect just a short walk to town, which made grabbing food or exploring super convenient. Plus, it was only about a 40-minute drive to some of the most popular hikes in the...
