Not the greatest experience. I booked this hotel for a Saturday night because it was 5 minutes away from the location that I needed to be at the next morning. A day or 2 before I was scheduled to check in, I received a call from a gentleman who asked if I can move to the Bridgewater Marriott, which was 35 minutes away from the destination that I needed to be at on Sunday. So of course it was a major inconvenience. He mentioned that the room would be taken care of and I wouldn't have to pay anything. Although hesitantly, I accepted the change without complaint. Upon checking into the hotel I was moved to, they said at 1st that they could not locate my reservation. I showed them the email I received from Springhill with my new confirmation # and the proper forms (marriott authorization form included) and was able to check in. The next day, when my wife and I were going to check out, the people at the front desk could not find that reservation and it wasnt actually even showing that I checked in. I showed them the email I received from Springhill regarding the room change which showed my confirmation # as well. Clearly, I wasn't lying. They tried to charge the card that was left on file by the Springhill employee, but said it was declined. So they had to charge me $249.88, when the hotel I originally booked was only $65. I contacted the Springhill about the issue 2 days later. That was a month ago. Still no resolution. I've been told that the charge will be refunded a few times and it still hasn't. No one has been rude, but no one's been able to fix the issue or even offered any type of freebie. I put in a case with Marriott corporate so hopefully it will be resolved soon. It's a good thing I'm not unstable financially because if so $249.88 taken off my account for a month that wasn't expected would stink. I'm such an easy going person and I haven't been rude at all in my follow ups. It just kills me that you overbook a hotel, move me 35 mins away from where I needed to be, and tell me the room is taken care of. Only to find out that it's not. Mistakes happen I understand that but it should be rectified without me having to be the one reaching out. My last email exchange was June 15 and I was told I'd hear back soon. It's June 27 and I haven't. Hoping this gets fixed soon. It's not even that much about the money. It's...
Read moreI recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at SpringHill Suites, and regrettably, it was far from satisfactory.
Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the lack of professionalism exhibited by the staff. Despite making reservations well in advance and arriving at the designated check-in time, I was met with indifference and rudeness from the front desk attendant. My attempts to inquire about certain amenities and services were met with curt responses, leaving me feeling unwelcome and undervalued as a guest.
Unfortunately, the issues didn't end there. Upon entering the room, it was evident that cleanliness was not a priority. The floors appeared to have been neglected, with visible dirt and debris scattered throughout. The bathroom was similarly disappointing, with uncleaned surfaces and an overall lack of hygiene. It was evident that the room had not been properly attended to prior to my arrival, which was both disheartening and concerning, especially given the current emphasis on health and safety standards.
Furthermore, the overall condition of the facilities left much to be desired. The furnishings were worn and outdated, and there was a pervasive sense of neglect throughout the property. It was clear that maintenance and upkeep were lacking, resulting in an environment that fell far short of the standards one would expect from a reputable hotel establishment.
In addition to the physical shortcomings of the accommodations, the level of customer service provided was wholly inadequate. Requests for assistance were met with delays and apathy, and it was evident that guest satisfaction was not a priority for the staff. The dismissive attitude displayed by the hotel personnel only served to exacerbate the already disappointing experience, leaving me feeling frustrated and undervalued as a paying guest.
In conclusion, my stay at SpringHill Suites Woodbridge was nothing short of disappointing. From the lackluster cleanliness of the rooms to the unprofessionalism of the staff, the experience fell far below the standards one would expect from a hotel of this caliber. I would strongly advise against staying at this establishment and would recommend exploring alternative options for accommodations...
Read moreWe stayed at this property one night after attending a concert nearby. First problem was extreme noise late into the night by a group of irresponsible guests who were outside in the back patio area, which made it difficult to sleep. Hotel staff apparently did nothing about it. But the real big issue was getting a phone call at 3AM from the front desk asking whether one of us (the male guest) was in the room and had checked in. Both of us are long-standing Marriott Bonvoy members, but I reserved the room myself and checked us in earlier at around 3pm the afternoon, gave my ID and credit card, then they checked the reservation in the computer, and all was well. Why did we get a 3AM call asking whether the second guest in the room (whose name was also on the reservation as an additional guest) was there? The front desk had also tried to call my cell phone minutes earlier, but the ringer was off. I have never ever had a hotel employee call my room or my cell phone late into the night to ask any questions at all or whether a particular guest was there. Who does that? What was the motive? What was the reason for the call at that hour? We were immediately suspicious, no longer felt secure in the room, would not have been able to sleep, and so we packed up and immediately left for home at 3AM. And upon leaving the employee was rude to my partner and never even apologized to either of us. This was an outrage. No explanation and horrible treatment of guests. Something is seriously wrong with the way this property is managed and the caliber and training of the staff. I have filed a formal complaint with Marriott. I would never visit this or another Springhill Suites property again. (And by the way, the rooms are not suites. Suites have two separate rooms with two TVs. This was one room with a small divider separating the bed from the sofa on the...
