When trying to decide on a place to stay in the mountains as part of a 3 week road trip, we found this place online and it seemed to tick all the boxes. We booked via email as you can't book through the website and this was all fine. It's sort of a remote set up really, so bear this in mind (we had a few teething problems upon arrival as we didn't have a US cell phone and so couldn't communicate via text to get our code to get into the room) but were able to get online at the local diner to contact them for the code. ||||There are only 4 rooms (we had room 4 on the end with 2 beds in) and it's nice and quiet. It is opposite a kids park and play area so dependant on time of day/week there may be kids coming and going to soccer practice etc. It's a small town and everything is walk-able - there aren't a huge amount of options for food other than a diner, bar and restaurant, but that's why you're coming up here right - for some peace and small town vibes! ||||The room was lovely - small but really comfy beds with lovely linens and cushions, plus a very fresh clean bathroom and shower. You can sit outside on the porch and we took advantage of this to relax with a drink in the warm afternoon sunshine - but be sure to take your bug repellent, as although i didn't see anything flying about, i got a couple of nasty mosquito bites due to not being prepared and not expecting it after being down in the desert and then ascending to the forest/mountain environment! There are nets on the windows though so the room is prepared - guess i shouldn't have left the door open while we sat on the porch but that's my mistake!||||It was cute to see the little xmas tree in each room (as the town sort of does a xmas thing all year around - which i think comes from the diner - and is fun). We had a great night's sleep at a great rate and I would stay again.||||You can park right outside the room and have a nice easy check out on leaving, by closing the door and that's it! Nicely done...
Read moreThis is small but very practical and cute hotel. It is just great. I would’ve given it five stars but the fact that there is nobody there to provide you any kind of service we need It, made me give it just four stars. The rooms are great, are perfect, are very cozy. They are very very clean and they have everything that you need. The beds and pillows and sheets were very comfortable and nice, the restroom was very clean and had everything what we needed. I love the fact that the parking it’s for free and it’s right in front of your room and also I love the two picnic tables that were on the side, they were very useful and cute. We only had one incident because one of my elderly parents by mistake Locked the door from inside and we weren’t able to contact nobody who could help us, we tried to text and call the lady who helped us doing the reservation over the phone, but it was impossible. At the end no body contacted us but we were very lucky since we were able to open the door without breaking it, but I could not imagine what would’ve happened if we were not able to open the door and that makes me feel scared. I definitely understand that at the end that was our mistake and it was on our end to follow instructions but again service was very poor. Overall, I really loved the place. It has a very nice location and everything what you need within the room. I will definitely...
Read moreMy family stayed in one of the cabins here. The cabin is clean and plenty of room for 5 people. The couch and chair were comfortable. Nice simple decor and a balcony that my grandmother could sit on.||||The issues I had include inadequate heating and broken control knob in the bedroom, broken window in same room, uncomfortable beds, a rug with bent ends that we all kept tripping on, the firewood tongs are hard to stir the fire with, one of the stove burners is broken, cant close the kitchen blinds, and the extra linens are not sealed in anything that keeps the dust and dirt out. I tolerated all of this, although a certain standard comes with the price you pay.||||Out of all the smaller issues the biggest problem was that I had washed dishes and then tried to give my 7 year old a bath at close to bed time, after being wet and cold in the snow, but I couldn't because the water tank needed 45 minutes to get hot again. I just wanted her to get a nice hot bath to warm up. My husband boiled water on the stove, but that just took too long. The rest of us will just shower when we get home. I was disappointed that the owner did not empathize with the situation but instead asked me "what do you want me to do about it?" Nothing I guess, because she didn't care.||||This place has plenty of great reviews. I'm sorry I can't also give a great review too.||Happy 90th...
