Person checking me mentioned after signing all the paperwork the lack of breakfast and the early morning carpet removal and floor laying. At first they tried to put me into the room directly next to the office, thankfully I got moved but it didn't matter much with the set up of everything sound travels straight through the building. Was woken up at 7:30am by car doors slamming, workers yelling, sawing and hammering and unable to get back to sleep before checkout at 11am. Hotel staff was unhelpful in regards to making anything right the morning of, claiming I had to go through the company I booked with. After several calls to the hotel later by the company I booked through and they still didn't "have a manager on duty." They gave the time that two managers came in and got called back and neither was there at that time. After a week of back and forth with the booking company being given the run around by the hotel I was FINALLY given 50% off of the room. Unbelievable that they can ruin a whole vacation for someone and not even be helpful or generous to remedy the problem. Not all staff was bad, in fact one lady was great and helpful but this was a downright horrible stay. Stay away!

We stayed two nights, for our honeymoon, and had a great experience. We switched our room with a king sized bed to an upstairs room with 2 double beds, because we wanted to be able to sit out on the rocking chairs & enjoy the view. Was a little disappointed that the downstairs rooms were updated, whereas the room we got upstairs was not. Although, not going to deduct any stars as it was our choice to be moved upstairs. The staff was friendly, room was clean, and did not see any bugs. Wifi was not the greatest.. But in the mountains, what do you expect? Also, a bummer that there was not a microwave in the room. The location is fantastic. Just a few minute walk from the park, which is beautiful. Also, just a short walk from two different shopping areas. Overall, very pleased with our stay.

The hotel exterior was clean and well maintained, the flowers on the railings are absolutely gorgeous! We stayed in a non-smoking king suite and it was clean, smelled clean, and the hard floors were a plus for us. The front desk attendant was friendly and helpful, check in was fast. I hate I didn’t catch her name, but she was a pleasant person. This hotel is within walking distance to shopping, restaurants and the Oconaluftee Island Park. The guest WiFi worked well and they do have a free breakfast , but we did not check that out on this trip. We were only there for a one night stay, but it was quiet at night, the bed was comfortable and we would definitely stay here again, the price was reasonable for the convenience of the location.

We decided to stay at the EconoLodge in Cherokee because it was a budget-friendly hotel that could actually accommodate our large family in one room.

The hotel was very easy to find and the young lady working the front desk was very pleasant. We offered us a room on either the first or second floor (we choose the first floor because this motel does not have elevators.) She also told us that her room was in a far back corner of the motel that the Wi-Fi signal may be spotty (it, along with cell phone signal, was actually non-existent) said to feel free to come to the lobby to use Internet whenever we wished. She also mentioned that the motel did not have a swimming pool but mentioned that there was a a public park with a creek suitable for swimming and waiting across the street.

Before making our reservation, I had read previous reviews that had mentioned noise problems. We did not experience any noise problems during our stay. Actually, our room was extremely quiet. We did not hear any noise from any adjoining room, the parking lot, or the street that runs parallel to the motel.

The breakfast buffet was good although limited to primarily bagels and cold pastries. Instant grits and oatmeal were available as was plenty of hot coffee, orange juice, and milk. The staff kept everything very well stocked and kept the dining area very clean.

Speaking of cleanliness, this is something that the EconoLodge Cherokee obviously takes great pride in. Our first impression driving into the parking lot was how clean the motel appeared. The lobby was equally as clean. Our room was squeaky clean also. We've stayed in much more expensive rooms that were far less clean than the EconoLodge Cherokee.

If we ever find ourselves back in Cherokee, NC we would definitely consider staying at the Econolodge Cherokee…non-existent...

I had booked a 2 night stay with Econo Lodge in Cherokee, NC for my birthday. There was a winter storm I didn't know about until the day before and I figured we would still try to go. I had drove 2 hours out of the 2 and a half hour drive it was going to take to get there when I reached the mountains and the roads were closed due to heavy snow and ice. By this time most of the roads were pretty bad and I didn't feel like it was safe driving anymore. I reached out to Econo Lodge immediately and told them I was not going to make it due to the fact of the winter storm. Jackie, one of the employees there, told me it should be fine to refund it since it's due to weather and that she would talk to the owner. That was on a friday. I called back sunday to see what the owner had said and she said she was going to go ahead and process the refund. I thanked her profusely and waited 7 business days for a refund. I never got that money back so i called on the 7th business day to see what was up about my refund. She proceeded to say that she never said any of those things and that I had to go through booking.com to request a refund (which would have been nice if she mentioned that to begin with). so i did. Whoever i talked to at Econolodg via booking.com said they werent giving me any money back and didn't even try to give me another booking date. The staff was rude every time i called. The staff was also misleading in saying they were going to refund me when they in fact werent going to. They suggested i keep driving and put my family in danger. They need to rethink how they run their business. Now im out of over $200 for something i didnt even...
