My husband and I tried to eat here, but couldn’t. First time visit, menu looked good, reviews mostly good, so we were looking forward to trying it out, since we eat out a lot and go to Cherokee often.
Went to order, no one in front of us, and there we stood. And stood, and stood. Completely ignored by all 3 employees behind the counter.
One man was putting together an order, he seemed to be the only one working. In the meantime, the cashier stepped away as soon ss we walked up, ambled around, telling the other two how he needed to go the bathroom, some other chit chat. He never acknowledged our presence. A young woman also ambled around behind the counter, touching things. Touch this, touch that, not actually doing anything, just touching things. Never spoke, wouldn’t look at us.
Per their clothing, the one man working and the young woman, appeared to be the manager/assistant manager. Neither seemed inclined to acknowledge us, or to tell their cashier employee to take care of the customers instead of milling around and doing nothing.
Inexcusable. This wasn’t just employees being slow to take an order. This was employees (and management?) IGNORING us while they were doing absolutely NOTHING.
We left and won’t be bothering to try them again. Zero stars if I could. Plenty of other places to spend $30+, and they obviously weren’t concerned about losing customers. As we got in our car, another group of 6 to 8 people were getting out of their vehicle. Since this place obviously wasn’t wanting customers, I did them a favor and warned the people about the service, they went next...
Read moreWAS my favorite place in Cherokee to eat. Have had nothing but amazing food here in the past, but TONIGHT WAS DIFFERENT. The girl Angelica gave me two of the tiniest thighs that had nothing but an immense amount of fried skin on them, yet I ordered them to be breasts (up charge). Plus I was up charged $1.59 for having my 4 year olds kids meal be a thigh instead of a leg. Not to mention she was so rude when I simply inquired about those substitutes. The green beans were drowning in water and tasted sour compared to other times there. Not to mention that she spoke badly about me to another girl working there. When I had walked to my table (she must’ve thought I didn’t know her language), she was bad mouthing me to her coworker. I quietly went back to the counter & told her that she was acting incredibly rude, in addition to my food not tasting up to standards as it usually did.. I also told her that it was soooo wrong to talk badly about a customer & to assume they don’t hear or not understand the language. I also included that the owner is a wonderful man & he’d be very disappointed. She nonchalantly responded with “ok that’s fine.” I couldn’t believe her audacity… especially since I spent nearly $30 on just myself & my 4 year old (plus I tipped them at time I ordered🙄). Not a cool...
Read moreYesterday was our first visit to All Fried Up. We arrived right around noon on Monday. They open at 11 according to the sign so they weren't too busy quite yet. The owner, Mr. Bynum, greeted us and took our order. I was already craving fish so I went with the 3 piece white fish, which came with steak fries, coleslaw, a cake of cornbread, and two hush puppies. My wife ordered the 2 piece fried chicken and had Mac and Cheese and coleslaw as her sides. First of all, the food: very good and freshly prepared. The chicken breading was amazing, and will give KFC a run for their money! My whitefish was lightly battered and piping hot, and a generous portion for the money. The Mac and cheese was clearly homemade (not that mess out of a box) and I ended up eating half of hers on accident!
In the mean time, we had a great conversation with the owner (Thomas) about him being from Hickory and the other restaurants in the area that he owns (which are great places to eat as well). I mentioned that I was a fan of fried green tomatoes, and he gave us a complimentary order of two to try out (delicious I may add).
Enjoyed our entire dining experience, and the conversation with Thomas as well. Good friendly place with delicious food. I highly recommend All Fried Up and will definitely...
