Desert View Motel — Hotel in Yucca Valley

Honestly wasn’t even going to write a review until my privacy was invaded multiple times by the owner. As a single mom of two and only coming in with my children and another female I just feel like it was really unprofessional and rude to open up my room door without even knocking. Secondly my daughter was changing in the restroom and was spooked out when she seen someone’s hand by the window. I go to tell the owner and he puts a flexible stick in the window as if it was going to work at this point because the window didn’t even lock properly. I was devastated and felt violated of my privacy and safety here. Coming the next morning I’m gathering our stuff and he looks in my trunk and tells me to take my own stuff out accusing me of stealing his bed bug infested sheets that were not even clean when we arrived and I mean hair and dirt all over the insides of the sheets. The microwave almost set fire when I first turned it on and he brought me another dirty one. Toilet was not clean upon arrival. Dirt underneath the bed as well. Just nasty. I have worked in the hospitality field and I knew not to have any expectations going here for the price it was and it being a motel but this is just not it. MOTEL 6 would’ve been cleaner and more professional. & please don’t try to say you have no recollection of my stay here because my phone has the time date and location of each picture. And I was cleaning my room before I left to make it as I came in until you continuously kept looking in my car after being told not to.

I checked in on the 8th around 6:50 pm once AGAIN I have a picture and time stamp of it if you really want it. I took pictures first thing I woke up the next morning of the rest from being too tired prior. Please don’t keep lying. As I said my pictures have dates and times! I checked out the 11th and no one asked you for a job or would even want to work at your bed bug infested rooms. I told you I was a housekeeper and would leave room nicer than I got it but with the amount of detail and cleaning you would’ve needed it wasn’t possible, this place needs a miracle. better business bureau Will handle this better than you would I’m sorry you can’t take criticism and fix your wrongs, instead lie. You have cameras in your office that work correct? Also I was never offered to see the room before checking in. I would love to see and hear when you did that. & who would want to change their room after already putting their OWN bedding on the beds and bleaching the floors before I even stepped on them. No handyman came & I NEVER asked for a refund either. Again, you have cameras everywhere that work don’t you? Very nasty place me and my husband came out for our anniversary the lady tried charging us 100 for 1 night we only got a discount because we had AAA the price dropped down to 70 which was still to much for one night. The lady didn't even change the blankets there were bed bug bites when we fell asleep. View is horrible they have more than enough room for a pool but don't have one. The bathroom is nasty the floor is very dirty. The lady did a half job cleaning because she was "tired" she says. The light above the bed don't turn on very poor room to he paying 70 for. Light switches are filthy. Only thing was nice was cable and the air cooler. They don't change or wash there blankets they just change the sheets and pillow cases. Beds were all over the place not even sturdy. To small of a headboard very uncomfortable. Noisy guest. Nasty chairs that don't even match looks very out of style ghetto I should say. I've stayed here many times while working in the area and passing through. The rooms have pretty much always been acceptably clean, the beds are comfortable, and the microwave, refrigerator, and shower are functional. Everything you need from a cheap motel.

These aren't luxury accommodations, so don't expect that. The furniture is shabby and mismatched. If you're concerned about such things, stay elsewhere. If you want a nice little cheap room near the main highway and convenient to lots of good places, this place fits the bill.

Cons are that it's kind of noisy, and the check-in process is very old-school. So you stand there for a long time while the very nice gentleman fills out all of your information by hand on multiple forms. That being said, I do appreciate the attention to security, especially as a solo female traveler. The parking lot is also well-lighted and covered by security cameras. If you have an egregiously large vehicle, you'll need to park nearby, as the lot is small.
