I am editing my review. Forgive me but right now I'm upset with what this restaurant has turned into. Today, my husband and I ordered takeout. I always get beef tamales, beans and rice. Twice now since they have moved to their new location they have given me BAD TAMALES! I let them know the last time it happened. Today when we ordered I got my usual 3 beef tamales, beans and rice. When we got home 2 tamales were in the container with the beans and rice, and 1 tamale was in a separate container. Tonight, I'm warming up my leftovers and put the tamale that was separate on my plate to warm up, before I do, I cut them up. THE TAMALE WAS SO OLD AND THE MEAT SO HARD A SHARP KNIFE WOULD NOT CUT THROUGH IT!! $44.00 (yes, of course a price raise came with the new bigger location. And the food has gone downhill.) for 3 tamales,1 of which I wouldn't even throw out for the animals, it was thrown in the trash! I'm pissed! We've been loyal customers since we've lived here (over 25yrs) and they still don't know us. And, whether they know us or not the food should be fresh and edible. 3 times of having to throw my food out due to it being bad is more than enough. I'm done! Ordering food out is a treat for us. Having to throw out food that was just ordered is unacceptable. Being a loyal customer for over 20 years and they still don't even recognize us is just not caring about ALL your customers! I don't know if they put the old food in the takeout orders, but we're never going back to find out. Las Palmas, you have lost 2 very loyal customers because you just don't care. We mostly have fast food in this town, and I don't care for any of the places offered here. So when my husband wants fast food I always have him get my food from Las Palmas. I LOVE THEIR FOOD! And, it's no more expensive than the fast food places. My go-to order is beef tamales with beans and rice. But, I love the beef tacos, beef or cheese enchiladas, chicken taco salad, pork wet burrito, street tacos, fish tacos, and their fresh salsa and chips are always great. Everything is delicious and fresh tasting. We've been going to Las Palmas for at least 19 yrs. I love the people, the food, and their margaritas are fantastic. You have to go and enjoy the best Mexican food in Yucca Valley, if not San...
Read moreLet me start out that Mexican food is not one of my favorite foods but try it because business partner enjoys it. It started with be set at a dirty outside table.(not a big deal after all we are in the desert) it's just that it took two request to get them the correct. Service was on the very slow side. We were all pretty hot and tired from a long work day in 105+ heat. My expectations was they would hustle out some drinks. This process took way to long. They dropped off a few bowls of chips and salsa . After what seemed like a lifetime they came back and took our drink orders. Again the expectation was it's hot the (bus person no server yet) would hustle in and get us some drinks as we set outside in the still 100° weather. This took forever. Finally a gentleman came out welcomed us and took our order. If memory serves me correct this would be the last time we saw him until we requested our check. As for the food.....Very average to below average. Nothing really stood out just plain, poorly prepared and maybe set at the warming window a little too long. The crispy tacos were soggy and fell apart in your plate when you picked them up.rice was dry and beans overcooked. Why do restaurants not understand ICED Tea. They poured warm tea over a few cubes of ice and served. I had to request a separate glass of ice in order to enjoy my ICED Tea. My final words.... If your going to make people wait for their checks in the hot summer desert please send someone out to check on them periodically refill...
Read moreCame here for dinner on a Thursday night during my visit to Joshua Tree. I've come to learn that almost any decent place near Joshua tree is going to have a wait and somewhat slow service (that's what my experience has been so far at least) since there are only a handful of restaurants per 5 miles, lol. But based on that, we were sat right away and had warm chips and salsa and drinks brought to the table almost immediately. It started out perfectly fine but then noticed they were short staffed a bit so it took awhile for them to come take our orders. I had the Thursday special: mole enchiladas and my partner had the 3 part combo: chile relleno, beef taco and taquito. Food came out in good time and tasted delicious! The mole sauce, beans and rice were very good and the bite of the chile relleno I tried was excellent. My partner said is whole meal was good too! We eat Mexican food often and all over the place, since we're a traveling couple, and it was definitely in the tastier tier for your typical authentic Mexican. Although they were a little on the slow side and short staffed it wasn't due to slacking off or ignoring us. They were working hard and running around like crazy to see everybody, which is why i gave 4 *'s. Would come back again, probably on Monday for their $1.50...
