The Grocery Outlet on 29 Palms Hwy is hands down one of the friendliest and most enjoyable shopping experiences I’ve had. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with warm smiles from the staff who genuinely seem happy to help. Employees here are quick to offer assistance, answer questions, and even point you toward the latest bargains you might have missed.

One of the standout things about this location is the community feel — fellow shoppers are just as friendly as the staff. You’ll often find yourself in cheerful conversations in the aisles, swapping recipe ideas or tips on the best finds of the day.

Compared to the Renaissance location, the 29 Palms Hwy store feels more relaxed and welcoming. While the Renaissance store can sometimes feel busier and more rushed, this location has a calmer, more personal atmosphere where customer service really shines. The layout also feels more open, making it easy to browse without feeling crowded.

Had the weirdest and worst customer experience that I can remember here. My girlfriend was returning some recently bought items when the owner came over and insisted that a package of dog toys didn't have all the items in it and had been opened. It had not been opened. Since she wasn't going to take the return anyways, I opened the package and showed her that all the items were there. She was arguing with us the whole time, saying there was supposed to be different contents in the package. I then showed her that the contents exactly matched the box's description, but she still wouldn't relent. She made quite a scene in front of a line of customers for a $10 package of dog toys, about the contents of which she was absolutely mistaken, but would not admit until I opened it and showed her. Even then she refused the return. She lost hundreds of dollars a week in business from us over something so petty. My girlfriend was in tears in the parking lot afterwards. The owner was accusing us of lying and treating us like criminals. We proved he wrong though. Needless to say, we will never go...

Treated quite rudely when asking them to honor price marked on item. Previous visit they did not sack all my items. Clerk very rude about my concerns and treated me as if I was a bother. I did not feel welcome. Also have gotten rotten fruit and freezer burned frozen items in the past. I overlooked this cause I love “gross me outlet” but too many bad experiences combined have forced me to warn other customers. Grocery outlets motto is obviously “buyer beware” and “we detest our customers”. Many, many, many items are not priced at all and clearly many others are miss marked . I looked forward to trips to grocery outlet but now will have a sense of dread at the thought of it. So many good things about this store but the poorest of customer service. The clerks there today could not have been ruder or less welcoming. Someone needs to talk to the Saturday evening staff. After processing my experience I will no longer do business at grocery outlet yucca valley. Grocery shopping should not be a traumatic experience. Shame on the employees that treated...
