This free museum is a must. They have interactive activities for young children. A display of local bugs and wildlife and some history of the valley. You can easily spend over an hour here. The workers are very informative and nice and it's a great place to escape the heat. Definitely make a stop here before you get to Joshua tree. There is a lot more to see here and do here, especially for kids than the Joshua Tree visitor center, but you should still check it out also.

What a wonderful little museum in Yucca! I was pleased to find out that there is no admission fee and they only humbly ask for a donation if you choose to donate. There is a new exhibit on pioneer women, a small exhibit of live animals and insects, and a main room of minerals and animal displays. This is a great place to learn something new and escape the sweltering summer heat!

We spent about 90 mins at the Museum, mainly so our kiddo could play in the children's area there were a few exhibits about the area, also a great display on gems and also the dioramas of the desert inhabitants was neat! Donations are appreciated and it was well worth the time to go someplace quiet for a bit!

I was actually inside the community center enjoying one of the many classes they have to offer I absolutely love it and wish they'd have more and more classes I'd like to take the variety of classes one each day of the week if I could at my age that's as close to going back to school as I can get learning things and having friendship with other people in their 50s and 60s and 70s some how much younger and it's still just as wonderful I encourage anybody to go there isn't the library enjoy the park enjoy the Beautiful yard big grown or children can play and then all the different classes that are ongoing only $2 per class that's wonderful and the people in each of these classes. High Desert Museum next door is amazing I've been through it many times I encourage anybody to go see it the exhibits are phenomenal at the local area and there's many historians there available to tell you all about the secrets of our magical...

My kids and I absolutely adore this little museum!! The “theme” changes every 3 months or so. They have an amazing display of gemstones unlike anything I’ve seen in the area and a super impressive display of the Mojave deserts wildlife. And then there’s the “classroom” which is an entire room set up like an old school house classroom equipped with all sorts of toys- bins on toy insects, dinosaurs, farm animals, linkin logs etc, books, etc. and there’s also a small play kitchen with stainless steel pots and pans giving it an ever more antique sort of feel. My kids are 10 years apart so it’s hard to find a place they both equally enjoy and this place nails it!! Thanks high desert museum for offering such an educational family friendly place free to...

The visit was enlightening educational a great experience for my grandchildren and their friends and my little four-year-old granddaughter Ashley held a cockroach that the lady at the Museum brought out for the kids to touch or hold I have pictures of a videos of her and of the others but I do not like to put children on Facebook or anything like that there's so many human Predators out there so I say it's a great place to take children let alone us adults can learn from our desert life out in the...
