P — Hotel in Colonia del Sacramento

Cenrally located and within easy walking distance of Restuarants and shops, this one time Government Building is within the original confines of the old walled town.||||The fact that it was once a government building [ residence] fires your imagination a little, and you tend to expect something a bit special.||||Our room was at the rear of the hotel adjacent to a large pine tree, with mature garden views, including the swimming pool. An interesting feature was a roof lookout which could be accessed from the first floor hallway. The tall pine tree was a useful landmark if you got lost in the vicinity.||||The decor was conservative and added class to the interior spaces. The walls were magnolia and the burgundy carpet, uniform throughout the building , extended a metre up the main passage way walls, on both sides, to a horizontal fashion strip. ||||The rooms had fully fitted burgundy carpeting extending to the skirting board; again the walls were painted in magnolia, so they were light and fresh. Cable TV and internet are standard: a heater or the quiet wall mounted modern airconditioner will keep you very comfortable. The en-suite was well equipped, clean, and with up - to - date units. One thing I was not sure about was the bathroom light switch being wall mounted within the confines of the shower stall, even though it was about 1.5 metres away from the shower sprinkler head ?? A good fridge was in the room. The bed and pillows also provided a very comfortable nights rest.||||The dining room is on the ground floor, and slightly sunken in a split level design. A continental breakfast is supplied. Nothing extraordinary, but adequate. The staff were competent...

Do not trust the pictures you see on the Posada del Gobernador hotel description. It was may be 15 years ago.||If I had a chance to put 0 stars I would do that. I'm not a picky person at all and travel a lot and see a lot of difference hotels in my life. But what I saw in this hotel I did not see anywhere else. It is awful. The pastures on the web made probably so many years ago. Hotel could be old, but it should not be dirty. The bathroom had mold, cracks and water flies. Water did not drainage In the shower as there is a lot of hairs. Hairs were on the floor and walls. Towels had black and yellow stains. Walls in the room has stains of food and water stains under windows. Room was not renovated for years. Merrow had a black stain on it. Safe box did not work as batteries were spoiled. Again everything was not only very old, it was DIRTY!|There is no continental breakfast. (photos attached)They gave you 1 piece of cheese, 1 piece of ham, 1 bun, 1 little cookie, 1 jam and 1 batter.|Thanks God that bad sheets was at list 90 % clean.|Staff...
