MIMFRI guest house — Hotel in Tashkent

We had a bad experience with the guesthouse staff. We almost missed our train to Samarcande because of them. They had said yes to safekeeping our extra luggage for a couple of weeks so we could travel around Uzbekistan a bit more lightweight before returning to the guest house in two weeks. Two days later and at the last minute when we were about to leave for the train station they said they could not keep the luggage, putting us in a very difficult position. Despite our insisting and even offering to pay, they would not change their mind. We have been traveling through more than 10 countries recently and have never experienced such a thing where 1/ the guesthouse would not keep luggage especially when they have a space for it and 2/ absolute inflexibility and unwillingness to help even seeing how distressed we were because it was really impossible for us to take this luggage. In the end we were able to leave it at the station for 10 000 som per day, it would have been helpful and much less stressful to have been informed of this option earlier on and we would have planned accordingly.

rooms were very comfortable and quiet. had asked to leave some luggage while we visited other cities, we understand that this was fine. Five minutes before leaving to the train station they told us it wasn’t possible. Have never had a hotel do this before, no real explanation, a very stressful experience, we had to find and pay for another storage solution and very nearly missed our train. very little (correct) information from the staff on what to visit, what’s open and how...

Had a very pleasant stay, they could accommodate my late checkin and they were helpful in communication over WhatsApp. Rooms were clean and furnished well but some interior walls were thin which may be a concern...
