Kim Sat Gat — Restaurant in Tashkent

Thank you! I was starting to get homesick and could not handle heavy meat-based meal that is typical in Central Asia. I had struggled for a week trying to find tasty veggies to eat in the last week in Almaty (those were either coated in oil or mayo which is not how I was raised with. We love plain veggies in my home country). I would say this is a twist of Korean cuisine. The beef was not cooked in Bulgogi style, kimchi was not fermented, and some other typical side dish (banchan) was not present. But a good enough substitute and something closest to home for me today. I have been eating bimbimbap since forever and their set has lots of twist to the veggies (the lack of carrot and cucumber, as well as surprising apperance of lettuce is noticeable) but I guess it’s understandable. Would probably not recommend it to a Korean but anyone interested in East Asian...

i was initially excited when i saw this place and pictures of the food -- which was good. i was not as excited when i saw i was being charged for chopsticks. what an insult. 😮😮😮 seriously! the food i ordered was good ... not enough for what i was being charged, but hey, service was there. kinda! the sashimi set is what had me retrieve my stare; a pile of daikon did not match the slivers of fish and shrimp. nice presentation and taste, though. huge potential! it was the charge on the chopsticks that threw me off. again, service was there. i also had the stake (or beef, as they sell it) and was rather surprised to see it served in the same size dish as kimchee, being that stake was the priciest of the two items. stake was only ok. korean food in seoul tasted so much...

Были большой компанией (5 взрослых и 4 ребенка). Мы большие любители корейской кухни и есть с чем сравнивать. Корейские рестораны почти никогда не блещут изысканым интерьером, все очень и очень скромно и тут не исключение. При более чем скромной обстановке цены в меню в 1,5-2 раза выше средних цен по Ташкенту. Подобные завышенные цены тоже характерны для многих корейских ресторанов. Тем не менее люди туда идут, тк очень и очень вкусно и огромные порции. К сожалению в этом заведении вы встретите и скромный, я бы даже сказал бедный интерьер, и чрезмерно завышенный ценик за блюда, где ингредиенты стоят копейки, но НЕ ПОЛУЧИТЕ вкусную корейскую еду, что приведёт к большоу огорчению и разочарованнию. Традиционное ассорти салатов ещё не научились портить и это радует. Куксу имеет четыре жалких ломтика мяса, соломку огурца и редьки. Бульон пустой, характерного вкуса нет, очень пресный, что особенно показательно в холодном куксу. Лапшу ещё не разучились варить. Порция не маленькая, но и не нарочито большая, как должно быть у корейцев, хотя это неважно, потому что удовольствия она не приносит. Чеюк топпаб кушать невозможно. Огромные неаппетитные куски овощей, рис и мясо. Все бы ничего, если чувствовался характерный традиционный вкус корейского соуса в этом блюде, но его нет! Какое-то жалкое подобие. В общем полнейшое разочарование. Ждал встречи с этим местом больше года и лучше б не питал надежд на вкусню еду. Ролы и суши покушать можно, но не корейскую еду.
