BEK Hotel — Hotel in Tashkent

This is a good city hotel with large comfortable, well presented and stylish rooms.||There is a pleasant outdoor area for drinks and snacks.||The hotel provides a good twenty four hour front desk service. The day time staff were particularly friendly as well as helpful and the graveyard shift finally mellowed. Understandably night staff are not as easy to get as the day time ones. ||Breakfast is very good and plenty of it with lots of fresh salads and fruit (very healthy) as well as usual breakfast fare. If you prebook they also offer you a breakfast box to take with you if you have to catch an early flight and check out very early. However, the we found the Dining room was not very inviting and the restaurant staff rather dour and on one occasion chased us away and shouted that breakfast was not served until 07.00 when we went down at 06.30 as it states in the service book in the rooms that the restaurant would be open at that time. Also even though the hotel staff said the restaurant was open from 07.00 it took them until 07.20 to finish putting the items out. Not impressed - so consequently we did not have dinner there at all although we spent a total of six nights at the hotel (3 two night stays). On checking out before an early flight there was a controversy over the mini bar but this was soon sorted out. We would recommend choosing this hotel as we enjoyed our stay there. However, please bear in mind the nearest metro station is about 15 minutes walk away which could be a problem in bad weather. Taxis though are...

There is no overhead light in the room, which is lit by two lamps with dim bulbs. It is difficult to see anything, like what is in your suitcase. How many pennies are they saving by putting low wattage bulbs in only two lamps?||The TV is apparently satellite, which often breaks up and quits. There are a couple of English language channels, although not CNN.||There is a night stand on only one side of the bed, and a floor lamp is on the other side; the second lamp is on a desk.||The staff are friendly and helpful and some speak English, at various levels. The free WiFi works very well. They offer laundry service. The breakfast is pretty good, but no eggs to order and only instant coffee.||This is a 3 star or 2 1/2 star hotel. Fairly...

The hotel is centrally located - close to the airport. May not be the best of best place to stay but it offers comfortable services for a short stay with reasonable rent. Pros: close to Next shopping mall and Amer Taimur square with plenty of restaurants within few minutes walking distance, friendly and extremely helpful staff and clean & comfortable rooms. Cons: lobby and swimming pool too small and overcrowded, at times traffic noise level is high being close to main road. Overall nice place to chose for a trip with family...
