We had a lovely stay here despite all the noise from the major construction site next door. This was only possible due to the staff who were very accommodating and did everything within their power to make our stay as enjoyable as possible!||We originally had a superior King room on the 2nd floor which was nice, but there was a dog barking the first night and throughout the next day. This, in addition to all the construction noise was very bothersome! So the manager moved us to a villa, and comped us a couples foot massage for all the disturbances. ||The villa was fantastic. It was twice as large as the 1st room, a bit quieter, and had a porch that was right on the koi pond so we could sit there and enjoy the zen-like beauty of the pond and gardens. This place is really landscaped beautifully and we appreciated the atmosphere here. ||We mostly came for the onsen though, and we were not disappointed. The onsen, albeit small, was beautiful, calming, relaxing and a joy to experience. Sitting in the hot spa water with the water flowing was so wonderful. They also had a nice sauna which was kept at a good hot temperature and they offered little towels to sit on so you didn’t burn your skin on the hot wood. They also offered buckets of bottled water to keep you refreshed, and to help prevent dehydration; this was very thoughtful and appreciated. Their steam room had a pile of fresh salt to do salt scrubs in the steam. In short it was lovely. The only suggestion I would have is to rotate the men’s & women’s side every other day so we get some variety.||This has the potential of a 5 star resort but it’s hard to feel that way with all the construction noise every day. I think once that building next door is finished it will be wonderful. ||*One note: I think it would be better business practice if the resort warned guests about the construction noise while it exists, to be fair to their future guests. I mean there was literally “jack hammering” starting at 7am going through to 5:30pm with a 2hr lunch break every day. We had to pay for our room in advance and it was “not refundable” within a few days of check in, so we were quite surprised by this noise, unpleasantly so. IF they had sent an email to us right after the reservation warning us, and offered to allow cancellation if the noise was too much, that would be the more equitable and fair way to treat incoming guests. Otherwise on the negative side it could be viewed as a...
