I booked a 2-bedroom unit at Dalat Resident Center so my husband and I could host some family during our trip. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
Before checking in, I tried to cancel after reading several negative reviews, but the property refused — citing their non-refundable policy.
Upon arrival, the room looked nothing like the photos online. Every window was dirty, cabinets were greasy, and the shower floor had visible green mold and vegetation. There was no working TV, no air conditioning as advertised, and the shower head was crusty and stained. Worse, there were black mold spores on the window shades, a piece of dental floss left behind from a previous guest, and even rotten milk left in one of the cabinets. The front door was also damaged.
Exhausted from travel, I tried to sleep through it, but my husband spoke with the staff that night. They offered only a 50% refund for the entire 5-night stay — despite all the issues. The next morning, I packed up and requested to check out early, asking to be charged for just the one night we stayed. The manager refused, insisting I still pay for at least 50% of the full 5-night stay.
When I mentioned I would dispute the charge with my bank, he suddenly changed his tune — offering to settle for 2 nights instead. Then he showed us a Booking.com fee (2.3 million VND / ~$87) and insisted we cover that too. As a customer, I shouldn’t be responsible for a business’s booking fees, especially when the service didn’t meet even basic cleanliness standards. My husband even offered to split the fee just to move on, but it left a bad taste in our mouths.
This place was unsanitary, misrepresented, and handled our complaint unprofessionally. Save yourself the stress — do...
Read morethe room my partner and I were originally given had dirty towels left thrown on the bathroom shelves, there was a leak from the sink, the drawers had mildew, the body soap smelled like it went bad and so did the washroom. water wasn’t going down the drain in the sink or the shower. it smelled awful. even the bedroom had mold. beware of unit 1007. When we communicated with one of the employees she told us “that’s just how the soap smells here”, “thats how the drawers smell” then when she smelled the washroom she was silent.
we asked for a different room and thankfully that one smelled and appeared cleaner but there was a roach. everything looks newly renovated but i was shocked that nobody seemed to have known the state of the first room.
Upon reading other reviews, the room we were given as a replacement (507) is apparently not theirs! they replied to someone else’s review saying it wasn’t in their system and to please delete the review? sounds untrue considering it’s the room we were given...
Read moreWe stayed here for three nights in December 2024. Tam was friendly and helpful when we first checked in and always available on WhatsApp to answer our queries. Loved the cosy interiors and the location of this apartment was great, a perfect base for exploring the main area of Dalat.
However, it was very overpriced for the quality of the apartment. Bathroom walls were mouldy, housekeeping was inadequate (there was no housekeeping at all throughout our stay here) and noise could be heard throughout the morning/night coming from the main road (I think there was a festival going on when we were there). Be careful if you stay during the winter. Hot water doesn't last for longer than 5-10 minutes, with two people it's stretching a little bit for comfort and there are no heaters...
