Khanh Uyen 3 Hotel (Estella Hotel) — Hotel in Da Lat City

I have chosen 1 star, but given the option it would be 0. We checked into this hotel, we booked a 2 bedroom “penthouse”. We had read reviews about the cleanliness, so made contact several times prior to our stay to ask the hotel to ensure the room was clean. We were asked to pay for our stay on arrival which we did. When we got into the “penthouse” it was extremely dirty. The kitchen backsplash had what appeared to be cooking splatter that had been smeared and food left in the cupboards and fridge. There was mould in the bathrooms including on the tiles, roof and a blind, handprints on the glass bathroom door and mirrors. There was a stench in the room. We decided we could not stay. When we went to reception to advise the room was not clean, the gentleman behind the desk did not want to hear our complaints and refused to come to the room with us so we could show him what our concerns were, even blaming us for the dirtiness. He was very defensive and rude. Other guests arrived at the hotel and told us he needed to check them in first before dealing with us. He spoke about the cancellation policy which we asked him to explain and he told us to read it, but would not tell us where we could find it. He continued to refute everything we said and then told us we were being rude and that we were in his country. I found this deeply offensive as very regular travelers to Vietnam for over 10 years. He made us cancel our booking on the booking platform which was before the cancellation deadline, we then worked out it was probably because we couldn’t post a review, before offering to refund 2 of our 3 night stay. Do NOT stay here!! My experience with this place was a nightmare start to finish. When we arrived at the property we booked a room with a window and the window was almost non existent and our room was flooded, we told the staff and they wiped the floor with dirty towels and said we had to stay in that room for the night and they’d “upgrade” us the next day. We agreed, but upon further inspection the room was completely filthy (as you can see from the photos) - don’t even get me started on that toilet!! 🤢🤮 we asked to be given a new room and showed him the photos, the man behind the desk didn’t seem to care and just handed us another key for a new room, even though they said they couldn’t upgrade us until the next day, there were plenty of free rooms upstairs. The new room was still a bit dirty, we stayed that night and checked out the next day. We were meant to be staying for 4 nights, this put us in a bad situation as we had to find new accommodation. When we checked out the man at the desk tried to charge us for the night we stayed, I said I didn’t think we should pay as the room was absolutely disgusting, we showed him the photos below and he was smirking and practically laughing at us, and didn’t even apologise for the state of his hotel. He still continued to charge us for the night we stayed, and then went on to cancel our booking on booking.com which flags up that we didn’t turn up for our booking and also means i couldn’t leave a review on booking.com. I would give this hotel zero stars but had to press one to write the review. The hotel gave our room to another guest just as we were heading to the hotel. It is located up a hill and is very basic, nit a hotel standard, not like the photos and a very noisy area. The glass on the windows are all single pane which omits all the traffic noise into the room. You will need ear plugs. Because it was late we excepted an offer to be put into another room in a sister hotel, the same name only number 2. The room was a hostel standard. They should not be calling themselves a hotel. I do not understand how they have good reviews, our experience was the opposite. The sheets in the room had not been changed from the previous guests. They were stained and had hair. We were given new sheets and had to make the bed ourselves. The mattress was as hard as a rock. The noise from the road was extremely loud! The shower and bathroom were old and dirty. It was a very very unpleasant night. Please do not go here! I can’t stress this enough. There are three hotels of this name, 1,2 and 3 all as bad...
