After two nights at a nearby hostel we moved to Lavender Tim and enjoyed it much more at a lower rate! We had a decent sized room downstairs - as we walked down the stairs I was worried it would be dark and dingy but it was light and bright. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bed was firm (very normal in these areas!) but the duvet and pillows were good. There was water available and towels provided. There was a small window but no view. The curtains were thick so we could sleep in. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The location was good - about a 15 minutes walk to the night markets and cafes/restaurant - it was the perfect distance to allow us to walk off dinner. They let us use the hotel facilities after we had checked out and looked after our luggage all day while we went on a trip.
