First time trying chicken hotpot with “la e” (some sort of special basil leaves) and I could understand why it was widely considered a must-try dish in Da Lat. The broth was clear and deliciously balanced with the savory sweetness from chicken bones and the naturally mild flavor from baby bamboo shoots and mushrooms. The “la e” was such a one-of-a-kind herb with its unique aroma that seemed to be a blend of mints, basils and lemongrasses. The overall experience was warm, tasty, and healthy.
