We only stayed here for a night. We arrived at the hotel at 10pm - from Sapa. Check in was smooth, the receptionist that night was friendly. Wifi & breakfast information was provided. We were given a different room instead of the one we booked. It was a bigger room, with bathtub. The toilet is very unsafe - the floors are too slippery and my partner and I nearly fell multiple times. The flooring is not at all anti slip.
The safe lock - wasn't working well, once locked - we couldn't open. We had to call for the guy to come and open it for us. Breakfast was good, some variety of food. Eggs are provided upon requests.
We checked out at 920am, as we had a flight to catch at 1120am. However the receptionist at the counter that morning took her own sweet time to process check out. I had booked my grab first - and once my grab arrived, we wanted to leave. As we were about to leave then the receptionist informed us that one of the towels was too dirty and therefore 10000vnd (~SGD $4) was charged to us. And to process the payment and receipt, she took another 5 minutes despite telling her to expedite because our grab has arrived and we need to go to the airport. We only managed to leave the hotel at 945am, resulting us in arriving the airport at 1030am. Causing us to almost miss our flight because the check in was closed already. If your receptionist had processed things faster, and not take a whole 25 minutes to process check out, I could have reached airport much earlier! She did not have a friendly look, did not smile at the guests & was rather rude when we told her to expedite. Please be extra mindful of things used in this hotel. Even for dirt on towels,...
Read moreI booked a junior suite but was upgraded to a huge two room executive suite with rather high ceilings. Amazing. Great hotel in convenient location. Very friendly and polite staff. Definitely recommended. The design reminds me of older grand hotels - pretty charming. Interior and furniture not exactly brand new but in pretty good condition. Very clean. Big and wide windows. The executive suite had TVs, a computer, a printer, a whirlpool, shower, living room seats and table, a very comfy bed, fridge, instant coffee and tea bags as well as an electric kettle. Fresh fruits very served on the living room table after every clean up.I often struggle with hotels that spray weird strong scents in the lobby, rooms and hallways. This hotel did not do that 👍 No bad smells - nothing to cover up - no scents. I like that. There is a pretty good and modern coffee bar on the ground floor (part of the lobby) and a restaurant on the roof top. The roof top restaurant is also where breakfast is served. One can sit inside or outside on the massive terrace with a stunning view. I was very satisfied with the breakfast buffet. It is not huge but they have a very friendly team - they offer good mix of continental breakfast (buns, toast, butter, jam, cheese, meat) and English breakfast (sausages, bacon, egg) and warm viet food (fried rice, fried noodles, pan fried veggies) and Vietnamese food (banh cuon, pickled veggies, nuoc mam, various meats).I am usually pretty picky but there is nothing to complain about when it comes to this hotel. Would come here...
Read morePositives |- Clean, decently appointed VFM accommodation right in the heart of the city.|- Friendly & courteous staff members especially Ms Dung at reception & breakfast service plus kitchen staff.|- Decent breakfast options for the price charged & good service.|- Housekeeping service was efficient and clean for all the 3 nights we stayed there.|- Good wifi & amenities.|- Help always offered at reception if assistance is asked for.|- Walking distance to convenience stores and local restaurants. Unlike the much hyped but unclean & very loud old quarters area this is much much better (personal preference).|- Good cancellation policies for last minute booking amendments not too fussy or late cancellation charges.||Negatives|- For late night arrivals entrance to the hotel can be a bit confusing as it shares the same lobby as the highlands coffee next door.|- They have missed the trick by not offering a balcony although their r windows but for a claustrophobic person this can get a bit stressy although not that bad as the windows open wide, my room was very well ventilated, view outside on the higher floors was decent for the city.||Overall considering Hanoi & price charged this is a good option to consider if your looking for a clean, hygienic, good location & decent breakfast.|Staff are understanding & do not rush you for anything which is a good thing. Most of them speak atleast basic English so communication is not stressed for their is not...
