May De Ville Corner Hotel — Hotel in Hà Nội

Room 401 – Space inadequate for the bed !! A group of 7 of us travelling in Vietnam stayed at May De Ville Hotel from 15th January to 17th January 2018. My wife and I were allocated room 401. The bed occupied almost the whole width of the room. As can be seen from the attached photograph, there were only about 9 inches on one side between the bed and the wall while the bed was next to the wall on the other side. We had to scramble one after the other to get into the bed. What was surprising was that some others in our group who were travelling single had spacious rooms allocated to them. I cannot quite understand why it happened this way!! The bed linen and towels as well as the room and the toilets were clean. There was free Wi-Fi available. The room also had a kettle, tv, small fridge, bathroom slippers, hair dryer as well as other standard items such as soap, tooth brush, shower caps etc. There were only about eight rooms in each floor and was therefore comparatively quiet. We had dinner and breakfast at the hotel during this period. The a-la-carte dishes ordered for dinner were tasty. We even called the chef and congratulated him on her cooking. The buffet breakfast boasted of both western and eastern dishes with a reasonable variety including fruits. In assessing and rating the hotel and its services I shall ignore the inadequacy of the space in the room 401 provided to us as a double room, since the other services were of higher quality and because the others in our group had more spacious rooms. We had a very pleasant stay at May De Ville Corner Hotel,Hanoi. The hotel is placed at the corner of a busy street which is quite unusual. However, this location has been extremely useful for exploring Hanoi by foot ( if you love walking). Some excellent restaurants very nearby - specially to mention is Van Cha Ca .|From the time we arrived ,the staff at the hotel have been very attentive and flexible to our needs. Special mention of Joosh and Hazel at the reception .The restaurant serves very good breakfast - unlimited supply of continental /Asian food and plenty of local fruits . Special mention of the pleasant staff at the restaurant and the evening staff who accommodated our request on 20th September to serve us food just before closing time after we had a long and tiring day from visiting Ha Long Bay .|Our check out was at 5.30 AM to catch the flight on time . We were given breakfast parcels for the whole family packed in separate boxes and a taxi was arranged for us from the hotel. Highly recommend this place to stay if...
