Steakout — Restaurant in Hà Nội

New Review: A lot has changed in a year; almost everything except the out of place music. I hadn't been in a long time since they messed up an order for my whole family, and brought the steaks out without asking how we'd like them cooked so the whole evening was ruined, and it seems they've just gone downhill from there. Service used to be some of the best you could get, and now it's just as typical as any cafe. Used to be some of the best steak I've ever tasted, now it's just dissapointing, the sauces are bland and watery, and the pate tastes more like cheap vietnamese pate now. One of my old favourite spots unfortunately falling to the infamous curse of business mediocrity here.

The food was ok, my steak plus the fries was for roughly $8. Normally you are expected to spend $10 for lunch at this kind of place. It’s worth to note that beef for steaks are imported and not home produced in Vietnam so do expect a chewy steak and you definitely should go for well done. The 1 star was for bad service. When we were about to finish our lunch, the two guys in the next table started smoking. The place was small, filled with smoke and I couldn’t breath. I repeatedly requested staff to remind those guests as indoor smoking in public areas is illegal in Vietnam but they did nothing. Later a lady looking like manager told me that we were sitting at a smoke-allowed area, but since the beginning no one informed us about smokers area. Stopped on a hot day for a couple of drinks & decided on a footpath table. The staff went & got us an electric fan.

Drinks were delivered quickly, very cold with chilled glasses & ice.

Decided on sharing a wagyu beef burger. The table was set for 2, with cutlery laid out & apart from the burger/chips/salad we got 2 slices of bread with butter/spread. The burger was juicy well cooked & very tasty.
