Ohana Hotel — Hotel in Hà Nội

I checked in with high hopes and left wondering if I needed antibiotics. The sheets weren’t just dirty—they were full of what appeared to be pubic hairs, and riddled with large moth-eaten holes like something out of a haunted textile museum. I asked for the bedding to be changed three times, and somehow, each new set was just as bad.||||The fridge was coated in a thick, sticky layer of grime, inside and out, as if it had been rescued from the bottom of a canal. In the bathroom, I was greeted by the fossilised remains of used earbuds and other mysterious guest debris. The vanity was shedding paint like it was trying to reinvent itself, and the toilet seat was broken—not that it mattered, since the toilet didn’t flush anyway.||||To be fair, the staff were genuinely lovely—polite, helpful, and as accommodating as they could be under the circumstances. Unfortunately, not even the kindest team could make up for the dire state of the facilities.||||Unless you’re conducting scientific research on bacteria or enjoy a little biohazard with your budget booking, I’d recommend staying absolutely anywhere else. Un desastre. Para empezar, la entrada es un callejón oscuro y la recepción un mostrador pequeño rodeado de cajas y desorden. Nos dieron las habitaciones de los bajos, literalmente al lado del mostrador. Todas las habitaciones dan a un patio interior con lo cual hay muy poca luz natural y las bombillas dejan que desear.

Las habitaciones son antiguas y se encuentran en un estado decadente: pintura desconchada, goteras y humedades en el techo, madera corroída, sofás rotos. El colchón es incómodo, muy duro y con muelles que se clavan. Las almohadas también son demasiado duras. Las fotos del anuncio son absolutamente engañosas y no reflejan para nada la realidad. Por si fuera poco, la limpieza es mínima o inexistente: las superficies tenían polvo, los espejos y los manises del baño estaban sucios, incluso vimos el surco de un vaso sobre la chimenea. Había sitios que se notaba que directamente nunca se han limpiado, como el ventanuco del baño que tenía tierra y ramitas de árbol. La puerta principal tenía un cristal que dejaba pasar demasiada luz de la recepción y era muy molesto para dormir, tuvimos que taparlo con toallas como pudimos. La habitación es oscura y húmeda, con lo que hay un olor raro y el aire es espeso, y había mosquitos y algunas moscas.

Los baños son probablemente la peor parte. La ducha estaba integrada en el baño sin ningún tipo de barrera para frenar el agua, y el sumidero se encontraba lejos, con lo cual en cada ducha el agua inundaba todo el suelo del baño y se quedaba mojado por horas, haciendo muy incómodo entrar al baño. La manguera para el inodoro estaba vieja y oxidada.

Lo mejor de este alojamiento es el personal, que fueron muy atentos y respondían bien a nuestras peticiones. Les pedimos cancelar las últimas noches de la reserva y nos lo concedieron sin problema, reembolsándonos el dinero correspondiente menos una tasa de cancelación. La ubicación también es un punto a favor del alojamiento, pero en general, la relación calidad precio para este alojamiento es muy muy baja para una ciudad como Hanoi. Budget hotel. Definitely not the best for its class. The pictures shown are dated and doesn't represent its current state. It is not maintained well. Our initial room at the first floor has a water pump inside the toilet and its loud. I asked for a room changed and get to the 2nd floor with upgraded room hence cost more. The room is big with unnecessary big cabinets. I am not sure if they clean the room after the guest leave as we see cigarette packs and rubbish on bathroom drawers.
