If you go to Hoi An we warmly recommend you to book the B‘Lan Riverside Villa for your stay. First of all it is affordable, with a good location (the river offers a bit of a cooler breeze) and nice facilities (nothing fancy but clean and newly renovated, which was visible). But apart from that it is so much more. The owner Vicky is the warmest, most accomodating host you will ever have (at least that is how we encountered her). Even before we arrived she booked us a Taxi from Da Nang to Hoi An which was cheaper than anything found online or the quote we got from out hotel in Hue (250‘000 Dong vs at least 570‘000 Dong). When we got there she gave us recommendations about day tours, tailors, lantern and cooking classes and also warned us about scammers that unfortunately roam the streets of Hoi An. All the prices where far cheaper than the stuff we had sadly booked in advance online. So you can easily wait and book through her! The pool is always open (24/7) and the bed was more comfortable than the other 3 hotels we stayed at so far in Vietnam (it did not feel like lying on a wooden plank). In the lobby is a fridge with endless water and ice supply and there was even some fresh fruit, which she always offered us. She even offered us to join her and her husband’s dinner when we came back from the town (we did join not but it was so sweet). I twisted my ankle on day of the big lantern festival and she drove my herself with the motorbike to town, because the taxis are not allowed to get that far. She even insisted that we text her to get me home later, because she was so worried about my ankle. We never asked her for any of these things, but she just offered because she is an amazing hostess even compared to Vietnamese standards! She also always asked me about my pain levels and how it is going. On the last day we got a late check-out (1pm) and she again insisted to get us lunch. Finally, we accepted, went down to the lobby, ate, stand and talked to her for a while about life in Vietnam. Yes, she did ask us about giving them a review but so did almost every hotel, restaurant, class and even the tailor! But we are writing this long review because it is well deserved. They also only reopend 4 months ago after Covid and the already mentioned renovation and we want to give the little support we can to bring back the amount of guests as before Covid. But we would not write this gushingly if it was not well deserved, Vicky and her family are real gems! But don’t worry if you value your privacy, shy or introverted like we are (we are after all Swiss). It is hotel-style and even when we stayed in the room until 12 noon on the first day, nobody came knocking to clean the room. Instead they waited until 2pm and texted us, if we are still there, because they did not see us leave. So thank you Vicky again for this truly once in a lifetime hospitality that we experienced from you, we are looking forward to one day returning to Vietnam and the B‘lan Riverside Villa! It was like being at your Grandma‘s house in the...
Read moreThe reviews were good and the price is reasonable, so we thought ok we would try B´Lan Villa! But at the end we were totally disappointed about the room. It´s small and there are a lot of paint marks all over the floor which make us feel uncomfortable about the cleanliness. The furniture runs down, not enough power outlets to use . You have to remove your shoes before you step in the main door of the house. ||+The staff is very helpful and friendly. They helped us to rent a motor bike which came just few minutes after our request.||+Wifi works well in our room. ||+Laundry service is excellant! The clothes were returned on the same day, all are clean for just 25 000 VND /kg!!!||Location: near to all of the tourist attractions, river is front of the house so the view from frontyard is really nice (unfortunately we couldn´t enjoy this peaceful view bcause they are building the street during our 2 nights stay). The hotel lie at a corner behind a small street (near the new Cam Kiem bridge) which was dark at night. We walked back to the room at 9.30pm-10pm and saw some street dogs right on the way to this villa which scared us and we had to call the reception to come to pick us up. Hopefully this may get better soon because there is another seem-to-be-big hotel coming, which is under construction next to this Villa. ||We reached the house at night, finding our room keys and the others lying on the reception desk. No one was there, the main door was not locked at all with a clear notice " I don´t lock the door, you can open it" written by the receptionist. That means: anyone could come in and open our room easily. Besides that, all of the guest passports were kept in a desk which was CLOSED WITH KEYS STILL ATTACHED TO THE LOCK. We immediately called the receptionist and took our passports back. She meant that it is total safe in Hoi An and nothing bad would happen, which may be true to Hoi An, but please keep in mind that there are always people who seek for a good chance to do bad things. ||To conclude, we were not happy with our room and will not come back to this Villa again. Hope they will improve the room condition and also the...
Read moreI have read the other reviews and was shocked to see that 2 people gave Blan Villa less stars than they deserved. ||My fiance and 2 friends had the pleasure of staying at this cozy, clean, family-owned hotel in Hoi An. I highly recommend staying here for the following reasons:||-the family who owns this villa are so sweet! They do everything they can to make your stay as amazing as possible. To the four of us, it felt like we were right at home!||-they provide free cruiser bikes, which is awesome because the town is relatively small, so you can reserve your bike and head to the beach for sunbathing or cruise into town for shopping and a nice meal||-the location is perfect! Right down the street are a few quiet, rustic outdoor coffee shops (one of them is owned by the owner's friend. He happens to make the best coffee and pho you've ever had in your life!). The villa is only about a 10 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride into the centre of town where all the restaurants, retailers and tailors are.||-Comfortable beds -- based on my extensive travels in South East Asia, the beds at Blan Villa are top tier! The mattress, comforter and pillows are super comfortable.||-the rooms are clean and their showers are hot -- a rarity in affordable Vietnam hotels! ||-the hotel is relatively small so you don't get a lot of noise in terms of people coming in and out ||-they provide laundry service which is inexpensive and highly convenient.||I can't stress enough how much my friends, fiance, and I loved Blan Villa. I would highly recommend this place to anyone staying in Hoi An who is looking for a clean room (something that, in my experience, has been somewhat hard to come by in the country) with amazing hospitality (the staff are truly fantastic), and a great location. ||To the B'Lan Family: Yuzo, Colleen, Siobhán and Nadim love and miss staying at your amazing Villa!...
