This hotel is well located away from the hustle and bustle of the old quarter, whilst being only 5 minute walk. There is a little market beside the hotel for water and snacks and a fantastic restaurant and yoga studio two doors down for great food/drinks and yoga if you’re in to that. There are free bikes also to help you get out to the beach.
The rooms are big and the bed is amazing - definitely the most comfortable we’ve had. However, the room wasn’t cleaned well when we first arrived. The table had sticky remnants on it and here was hair on our bed head. The air con is very effective and the safety box is large. The showers are a bit dated but very good pressure and hot water. Ours did clog and overflow a few days in, but the staff fixed this very quickly for us. The WiFi is good.
We were here for 10 nights so got a good feel for the place. Most days room-service was efficient, however there were three days during our stay where they didn’t come at all and just left fresh towels and water hanging on the door outside despite us having a ‘make up my room’ sign on. Our sheets and pillow cases weren’t changed the entire stay.
The breakfast here is very good. Traditional options as well as pancakes and eggs. Breakfast service is a bit of a hit and a miss some days. There were a few days we waited a long time for food (as it is table service) and one day my omelette sat for 30mins on the bench (I didn’t realize it was mine) until my husbands pancake was ready. So by the time they brought it to the table it was stone cold. They also don’t tend to clean the tables between guests either. Most days they were ok though. I think this depended a bit on staff.
We were excited to come to this place in the city and have a pool being far from the beach, but sadly the pool is very small and adjacent to a road, so not the nicest atmosphere for sitting and relaxing. If you want a pool, this might not be the place for you.
Overall we had a great time, I think perfect for a short stay, but we wouldn’t return for...
Read moreTHERE IS NOT ENOUGH WORDS TO EXPRESS THIS GREAT HOTEL & ITS STAFF I can’t even begin to express how much of an amazing time I and my partner had at this hotel and in Hoi An. We have been travelling around SE Asia for 9 weeks and this is by far our favourite place we have stayed!
Firstly the staff are wonderful. the most helpful, kind and caring staff members we have ever met. I would like to mention and express our gratitude to Ny , Thiên for all your support and friendship during our stay.
Ny, (the boss) greeted us on check in and immediately we sensed she was just such a lovely and helpful person. she spoke to us about what would we liked to do in Hoi An during our stay and gave us many recommendations for food, tours, gyms, activities etc.
The rooms are really lovely, nicely decorated with a lovely shower with good pressure and a comfortable bed/pillows and good air con. The pool is nice for a relaxing afternoon to catch a tan! They have bicycles that are charge to roam around in Hoi An - not the fanciest bikes in the world but they get you from A & B. They also have a driver that will take you to any activities you book via them or even to Da Nang for cheaper than a grab.
Their English is so good, you can easily communicate with all of the staff. any concerns or queries you have they will be happy to help.
Overall we were so impressed with Hoi An Canal House and it’s team and would 100% come back to stay here if we ever visited...
Read moreWe stayed here in February & the staff here are fantastic, especially Tieu Ny. Even beyond our stay, she was extremely helpful and supportive. We stayed on Hoi An for an extra few days but the hotel was full so had to stay elsewhere. Unfortunately, we went to a hotel that was nowhere near as good. Tieu Ny helped us to book trips after we left and also arranged for their driver to take us to the airport when we left (paid of course). The breakfast was lovely but could have been slightly bigger :-) The banh mi baguette with the eggs was great and the fruit was lovely and fresh. We even wanted to book in for extra breakfasts when we had to go to the other hotel, but they had full capacity with all the guests so cannot cater for non guests. We didn't use the pool. Only downside I can mention for this hotel, is the room was very damp. I had a headache that turned into a continous migraine that wouldn't go. It wasn't until we checked out and went to the other hotel, that this improved and eventually went. I felt significantly better within 30 minutes of leaving that room, which means it had to have been the cause. The room will need to be treated. We would definitely come back to this hotel, just not the same room. Their trips and their private taxi are better priced than most hotels, and their customer service is impeccable, so even if you don't stay here, use them to book your...
