Perfect five stars? I don't think so
I was duped by all the fake reviews like many others, I'm sure!
I booked a room at what appeared to be a new and fresh hotel only to be brought to another hotel across the road upon arrival? 😔
Totally unacceptable
I will also review this on booking app so every one knows what happened
I still can't wrap my brain around it
Short story, I booked a room at this fake rated five star homestay
The ratings are not even close after the nonsense I recieved. I took it in stride but what reputable establishment accepts a reservation and arbitrarily moves visitors to a run down hotel across the street?
Quoc, the manager or whatever title you want to give him, goes out of his way to text you after booking and says hello, and he can't wait to meet you. Yada yada... To the point of obnoxious
No joke. I nicknamed him 'what a load of Quoc' in my phone...
Sadly that proved to be true
I arrive and 'Quoc' walks me across the street and says I put you in a hotel next door...
I'm sorry what???
If I wanted to stay in the run down hotel next door I would have booked there.
I was looking at multiple hotels before I booked here. I only booked out of convenience as it was a short walk from my other hotel
It was not up to 'Quoc' to arbitrarily decide where I sleep on my holiday
Not acceptable. I have reported to booking.com so this does not happen again...
Read moreWe were guests at the Januaryvilla from 14/09 to 18/09. We had originally booked a different hotel which was closer to the Old Town. However, the owner informed us that there were problems with the electricity and that we would therefore be the very first guests in his new hotel, the Januaryvilla. The location is completely different, which initially made us suspicious. However, the rooms and general facilities were almost identical. We had both a pool and a balcony. The location turned out to be no problem as we were able to rent bicycles for free at the Januaryvilla and within a 10-minute ride through the rice fields on the outskirts of Hoi An, we arrived directly at the beach. The host and the two ladies who work at the Januaryvilla were incredibly welcoming. For the Moon Festival on 17 September, they invited us and the other guests to a typical local lunch. You could also do your laundry on site or approach the host with any other problem (we were missing an adapter, for example). He took care of every request as quickly as possible. Breakfast was included if ordered the evening before. We can highly recommend this accommodation for a stay in Hoi An.
Addition: Because we noticed it when reading the other reviews - there was a change of ownership as mentioned above and we were therefore the first guests under...

Quoc and his family, goes above and beyond to make sure their guests are comfortable and well looked after.. From serving us with delicious bfast to making sure our room are clean when we come back from our day out. Anything we need, we ask Qouc. Very good room rate. the room are spacious and clean. There are bikes you can use for free to roam around. Free umbrellas and will throw in some bottled water as well when you are heading out for the day. Its a decent walk to the Old town which offers a good insight to behind the scene of Hoi An (Very safe to walk even late at night too)
We are in vietnam for my 40th birthday getaway.. Qouc and his family went all in in spoiling me with a birthday cake, flowers and a balloon which was handed to me during bfast.. it didnt end there, later in the afternoon, he came up to our room with a bottle of wine as well..
Qouc,we cant thank you enough for your kindness and for making sure our stay is a...
