The hotel collected me from my previous hotel in Da Nang.
When we arrived in Hoi An and checked in, TyTy sat me down with a welcome juice and went through the map and things to do and see in Hoi An. A really nice touch, that was welcomed as there is so much information online it can be overwhelming. I would recommend asking the hotel for names of restaurants, tailors as they do know all the places in Hoi An.
There is a twice daily shuttle bus to An Bang beach (you can bike this if you fancy some exercise - the bikes are free at the hotel and takes around 15 minutes ride)
The Spa is really good, alot nicer than the ones you see advertised in town - I booked a full-body massage. Though in the Spa I saw there is a Sauna / steam room facility.
The hotel is beautiful with foliage going up the walls and stone walls/floors. The pool is quite but looked adequate - I didn't get a chance to try it out.
The hotel is brand new, the rooms are modern and spacious, the bathroom is large and the shower is huge. The hotel also provides umbrellas for those tropical rain showers!
On my last day, one of the girls recommended I take a bike and see the real Vietnam - take a bike and go to Cam Kim village which is accessible by a metal bridge about 15 minute bike ride away. I got to see the countryside with no other tourists in sight, sometime no people at all! This was one of my highlights of my trip and I liked that the hotel recommended this rather than pushing for a guided tour.
I previously had a bad experience in Da Nang. If it were not for the hotel being so good, I think I would have booked an early flight home. The hotel feels really genuine and has the interests of the guest at heart, I was always greeted with a smile and by name. I would be really happy to stay again at...
Read moreGood wifi, great bed (more pillows would be good), good size room and even a little balcony. The hotel has a nice resort-type feel with the corridors opening to the outside. The bathroom in the next room backs on to the bed so you can hear toilet flushing and shower running - fortunately that's all you can hear... Breakfast was a little lacking - too much meat and not many options. Free bicycles available, fresh bottled water every day, good hot water in the shower, nice clean pool (didn't get much sun when we were there beginning of March) and a lot of chlorine. As far as I could see there were only powerpoints on one side of the bed and underneath the sideboard. The hotel is a good location right next to the old town but far enough away from crowds. Good cable channels - especially the movies.
One bung note was that I'd told them it was my birthday two months in advance (a reasonably big bday) and not that I was expecting a parade but some acknowledgment would have been nice. What I got was zilch, nada, nichts, even after saying they had it in their notes when we checked in. The opposite of the Silverland Yen hotel in Saigon for my partner's bday.
The egg table at breakfast is a little close to the other food table, given what we've just experienced over the last 3+ years. Especially when one of the guests coughed directly over the breads without covering her mouth.
Overall it was good...
Read moreThis used to be called Atlas hotel which we stayed in 6 years ago. We opted for a family suite which was very spacious. However, if you plan on using a safe their safes are very light and can be picked up and moved. We were told the safe was designed this way incase guests wanted to move the safe to their desired location in the room. After some inefficient communication back and forth, our safe was replaced and the maintenance worker screwed the safe to the cupboard. There was a decent amount of variety for breakfast, pho, omelette and warm dishes as well as fruit and various options for beverages. The bakery, pastries and bread is laid out in the open exposed to flies. Daisy welcomed us to the hotel upon arrival. She is quite funny and direct and offered us the coconut boat experience which is much cheaper on Klook. We did manage to go to coconut boat forest and would definitely recommend this. It is so much fun and party vibes in the ocean. Beware do not take the laundry bags in the rooms and beware of chargeable items on the menu as they will chase you out of the hotel for it on check out. Overall, hotel is in a fairly good location, service was good and breakfast was good too. Doesn't have personalised WhatsApp service as some hotels in Hanoi would. Gym is sub-par would not use it incase the machines broke and the weights crushed my body. Would consider staying again as the hotel is...
