Golden Central Hotel Saigon — Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City

RUde staff. Very upsetting service. At checkout, they charged my mom for water that she didn’t drink. What happened was my mom brought in water bottle that she got from another shop on the street, and did not touch the water in the room. However, somehow one bottle was missing and they found the empty bottle that happened to be the same brand. You can literally find Dasani everywhere. That wasn’t the upsetting part though, the upsetting part was when we tried to explain and one of the staff (manager I think in a white shirt) literally accused her of lying, and took the bottle out of trash, and said “see I have proof, it’s the same” and threw the bottle back in the trash, and slammed the fridge door and did not want to listen to anything we were talking about. I witnessed it (should’ve filmed his unacceptable attitude) and I asked him “excuse me, what kind of service is this?” He looked at me and continued stomping away. As if I don’t exist. That was PLAIN RUDE. Obviously my mom was super angry so she tried to complain to the reception, and they had the odesity to not even apologize, and said “if you want to complain, do it to your travel agency.” NO SENSE OF RESPONSIBILITY ? At least apologize for your fellow coworker, and make sure it doesn’t happen again. We thought it was just that one guy but even the guy at the reception didn’t have any respect for guest. This is definitely not 4 star service (not even close actually) and it wasn’t a pleasant experience trying to...

This is a "self rated" 4 star hotel. In reality, it might be a 2.5. On arrival we were upsold an "upgraded" room for $40USD. Strangely, it could only be a cash payment. Strange. When we went to our room, I was amazed at how small it was. I couldn't believe this was the "upgrade". I didn't want to kick up a fuss so I left it. The bathroom has mould spots and is not at the cleanliness level you would expect. The towels are not plush and soft. They are old, thin, worn out and the ends are frayed like mums 20 year old beach towels she can't bare to throw out. The WIFI is an absolute joke. Constantly dropping out and when it works it is sloooooooower than Forrest Gump with his leg braces on. The aircondition doesn't stay on when you leave the room. So you always come back to a sauna and have to wait for the room to cool down. Coming in from 34C and 1,000,000% humidity, it wasn't pleasant. The "gym" is not a gym. I stayed here around march 20 of 2019 and kept some money in safe box ,first day it was ok but second day after coming back from out side I found two hundred USD missed ,I talked several times to reception to check camera and talk to hotel manager but day told me you go back room we call you but nobody called me ,who is responsible for safe box maintenance is thief and they have cordination with reception for this issue,I threatened them call to police but they laughed at me and said what ever you can do you do ,after that I have to carry a lot of money by myself ,so be careful this hotel has organized team to steal around one or two hundred USD from every body who put more money in safe box because after money stolen money owner will think maybe himself made mistake to count money and will not pay attention more ,This is way how this hotel rob guests money...
